Location Scouter for TV Show 'Narcos' Killed in Mexico

Carlos Munoz Portal a location scouter for varies high-profile films was fatally shot in a rural area of Mexico while on duty.

At the time of the incident, he was scouting location sites for season 4 of the popular tv show Narcos. The 37-year-old's car and body were found on a dirt road in the region of Temascalapa, Mexico, near the border of Hidalgo where homicide rates are prevalent. Due to the remote location, no witnesses have come forward and the reason for the crime remains unknown as law enforcement continues their investigation.

Netflix released the following statement in light of the recent news, "We are aware of the passing of Carlos Munoz Portal, a well-respected location scout, and send our condolences to his family." Season 4 of Narcos was going to showcase the story of Juarez cartel in Mexico, but after the sudden death Munoz they might continue film production in Colombia where they originally started with the story of Pablo Escobar, season 1 and 2.
