Donald Trump Announces Transgender Individuals To Be Banned From Military

President Donald Trump announced his most recent military plans via Twitter early Wednesday.

In Trump's latest stunt, he made a surprising announcement through a series of tweets regarding transgender individuals and the United States military. After talking to military experts and generals, the president says he plans to reinstate the ban on transgender people from serving in the armed forces. 

His reason? President Trump said the military "cannot be burdened with the tremendous medical costs and disruption that transgender in the military would entail." This decision is a major setback for the  LGBTQ community.

 

 

Just last year, Barack Obama approved a policy that allowed transgender individuals to openly serve in the military.

Despite 45's supposed support for the LGBTQ community, he's taking a giant leap backward in regards to gender equality. And he doesn't seem fazed by the harsh feedback and reaction to his controversial decision.
