Marco Rubio Urges Voters to Investigate Donald Trump's History with Illegal Labor

Marco Rubio called Donald Trump out on his questionable immigration proposals at the Republican debate Thursday night, and he urged the audience to do some research of their own on the issue.

Here's what happened: Trump discussed his plan to build a wall on the U.S.-Mexico border when Rubio interjected by joking that the GOP frontrunner would use illegal labor to build it.

“It’s a fact,” Rubio said. “Again, go online and Google it. Donald Trump, Polish workers. You’ll see it.”

The audience listened. TIME reports that Google searches for Donald Trump and Polish workers went up about 300 percent.

Users likely found a 1990 New York Times article, which reported that Trump used nearly 200 undocumented immigrants to build his Trump Tower.
