Shocking News of the Day: Pole Dancing Doll on the Market

When we saw this pole dancing doll, we thought it was joke, but unfortunately it isn't. Jesus Diaz over at Gizmodo dug up this gem of a toy. On the box, the Pole Dance doll promises: "Style." "Music." "Flash." "Up and Down." "Go Round and Round."

Hmm, a few weeks ago we also spotted these disturbing toddler T-shirts with nipple pasties by the London based Twisted Twee clothing line so that your little baby girl can look just like a burlesque dancer! Mami Diaries blogger Carla Molina Martins recently complained about finding a pair of denim for her 2-year-old Dessa at Baby Gap labeled "boyfriend jeans." And do we even have to mention the creepy breastfeeding Bebé Glotón toy again?

Why can't we just let our kids be kids and stop trying to foist all these adult concepts on to them at such an early age? Does a toddler really need to be exposed to the world of exotic dancers? It seems like there is a very disturbing trend on the rise here of sexualizing baby girls. We all know that this has been happening for decades to teens (Hello, Britney Spears and Miley Cyrus—and the list goes on!) but we thought that at least those under the age of 5 were safe. Guess not.

What do you think about the societal push to make baby girls super-sexy? Are you as disturbed by this trend as we are?

What a shame!
Then people wag their fingers, turn and run and/or criticize teenage pregnancy without realizing Adults contribution to the hormonal confusion.
very disturbed. but it is up to the parents to handle how and what their children are exposed to. and even though kids will be exposed regardless, having an open communication with them early on allowing the child to ask questions, even if it is about their own sexuality.
This makes me sick to my stomach to see, no idea how disappointed to see the market promoting this and many other disturbing ideas, this thought to be cute and funny sends a terrible message to younger girls, not only girls but parents as well, they fall into the trap that they have to buy into what their children want. Don't know how this trend will change unless the parents stand up and say no, it's not so hard.
