The New York Film Academy recently put together an extremely interesting infographic titled “Gender Inequality in Film.” According to the infographic, only 30.8 percent of speaking characters in films are women and roughly a third of these are shown in sexually revealing attire or partially naked. Another interesting statistic the NYFA listed was the percentage of women employed behind the scenes.
