Well, that escalated quickly. The Mexican state of Sonora has put a ban on 61 names for children, reports the Associated Press. Two of the names? Facebook and Circumcision. But here's the crazy part: since state officials can only ban names that have been found in official registries, it means that somewhere out there there's at least one child named Facebook, and one child named Circumcision.

According to BabyCenter en Español, those are just two of the most popular names Hispanic parents gave their babies in 2013. The site's findings are based on the names of more than 50,000 babies born in 2013 to parents from the United States and Latin America who registered on BabyCenter en Español.

According to the release, more parents are giving their children Hispanic-sounding names. Yes, we're talking first names.

The Social Security Administration releases the top baby names given to children born every year, and this year's list is out! In 2012, the top baby names were Sophia and Jacob. Not particularly surprising, as Sophia has been the most popular name for girls for the past two years, while Jacob has reigned supreme since 1999. No kidding.
