A bride-to-be and eight of her friends were celebrating a girls’ night out when suddenly their stretch limo went into flames while on a San Francisco Bay bridge Saturday night. One of the passengers complained about smelling smoke. By the time the driver pulled over and got out, the ride was in flames. Five of the nine women were trapped inside and died at the scene, including bride-to-be, Neriza Fojas.

This video has been making the rounds, and is quite the performance, we must say. Marie serenaded (soon-to-be) husband Devin Carr to the tune of Christina Aguilera’s “The Right Man” while walking down the aisle in Cincinnati.
Carr’s father passed away when she was a teenager, so she decided to walk down the aisle solo, while belting out how her groom made her feel.

When thinking of a perfect father/daughter song to dance at my wedding, what comes to mind is an old school salsa song. I know some of you may think it’s a bit impersonal and not typical father/daughter music to dance to, but there are several reason why a salsa song is very fitting for my papi and I.

You know how when someone close to you is pregnant, all of sudden it seems like every single woman you see is pregnant?
Well, I kind of feel that way with the “D” word: DIVORCE. Now that I am so close to my wedding date, I feel like I keep on hearing about people getting divorced and with the whole J.Lo and Marc Anthony breakup, the word is being thrown around everywhere and it freaks me out!

While there is still some time for wedding preparations I think it’s smart to start thinking about our honeymoon. I know some of you may think that a honeymoon is not important or something I shouldn’t make a priority, but traveling is something both Hector and I love to do, so this trip will really represent us as a married couple. Honeymoons can get pretty expensive and will take some time to plan, so I’d like to get this out of the way before I get crazed with last-minute wedding stuff.

Music, in my opinion, is one of the most important parts of a wedding. I think music determines the vibe of your party. Does it feel like a house party or a cocktail soiree? But, even more important than your the playlist is the very first song you choose to dance to as a newly married couple—your wedding song.

With the wedding date changed, I’ve been very lackadaisical when it comes to continuing the planning process. However, time flies and soon enough my wedding will be right around the corner. If I don’t get back to it I’ll be scrambling in the last minute trying to get things done.

For as long as I’ve been working at Latina, I’ve been in a relationship with Hector. And, just like in my job, I’ve dedicated time and energy into my relationship to make it lasting and successful. Fast-forward three years and I am the Fashion Market Editor at the magazine and still going strong with my live-in boyfriend. Everything was going according to plan in both areas of my life until one day my personal life skyrocketed.
