I haven't called myself a "girl" in a long time, but I'm so fired up about today's presidential election that I can't help singing along with Alicia Keys.

Most of all, I can't stop thinking about the girls on fire of a century ago--the suffragists, those women with plenty of ovarios who marched, got beaten, harassed, thrown in jail for daring to demand that women be allowed to vote.

Imagine, women on hunger strikes for wanting to do what we now take for granted and many don't do at all.

Taxis Offer Latinos Free Ride to the Polls

Two taxi services organized by the Utah Coalition of La Raza, the Mexican Civic Center and the "Pulso Latino" radio program will provide Latinos a free ride to the polls so that they can perform their civic duty, reports Fox News Latino. The service aims to promote Latinos to come to the polls. This is the first year that Utah will have ballots available in Spanish.

Arizona officials in Maricopa County made a big mistake on official government documents printed in Spanish, reporting the wrong election date.

The document was attached to updated voter registration cards that were requested to be delivered in person, and listed the general election date as November 8 in Spanish. The document reported the correct date (November 6) in an English translation.
