Eva Longoria Parker teamed up with the National Museum of the American Latino and joined its commission alongside Emilio Estefan, Secretary of Labor Hilda Solis and Secretary of the Interior Ken Salazar to push for the creation of a museum to memorialize the role of Latinos in the U.S.

Cuban-born singer Gloria Estefan and her husband Emilio Estefan will host President Barack Obama when he takes a trip down to Florida on April 15. The music industry power couple will throw their first ever political fundraiser for the Democratic National Committee. The pricey cocktail reception ($30,400 per couple for tickets) will be held at the Estefan's Miami Beach home.

Calle 13 gave a free concert in Cuba yesterday that attracted tens of thousands of fans from all over the island to the Jose Marti Anti-Imperialist Plaza in the capital city of Havana. Assuring the fans that he was there to talk about “sex, religion and politics,” the provocative leader of the band, Residente (aka René Pérez) went on to speak out against US policy towards the island nation.

Emilio Estefan premiered the video for his Spanish version of "We are the World" entitled "Somos el Mundo" on El Show de Crisitina this week and the stars came out to support the effort in full force. From Juanes to Shakira to Pitbull, it was a veritable who's who in the world of Latin music.

Grammy Award–winning music producer Emilio Estefan has worked with Shakira, Ricky Martin, Marc Anthony, Jennifer Lopez and many other luminaries. And now he can add President Barack Obama to that list. The president recently appointed the Cubano to be on the "Commission to Study the Potential Creation of a National Museum of the American Latino."

Apparently, Miami Dolphin’s owner Stephen Ross wasn’t kidding when he said he wanted his team’s ownership to mirror the diversity of South Florida. About a month ago Gloria and Emilio Estefan purchased a minority share of the NFL team. But the Estefan's didn't have much time to revel in the fact that they were the first Cuban-American owners of any NFL team. Marc Anthony quickly followed suit, also buying into partial ownership of the Miami franchise.
