Jessica Alba, a Revlon Brand Ambassador, tweeted this pic of her and photographer Jake Nava at a Revlon photo shoot Wednesday. Based on the image, I expected the ad to be for fall’s hot red lipstick trend; but Revlon tells me that it’s actually for their Just Add Sparkle nail enamels.

In light of strong outrage over the MAC Rodarte makeup collection that was inspired by Ciudad Juarez, MAC executives met with Mexican government officials last night in Mexico City to apologize and to commit their global profits from the MAC Rodarte makeup collection to the Women and Girls of Juarez Initiative.

MAC Cosmetics has faced intense criticism after bloggers caught wind of the new fall makeup line the brand is co-launching with "it" girl designers Rodarte.
The line, ostensibly inspired by a road trip Rodarte designers Laura and Kate Mulleavy took along the U.S./Mexico border, include blushes, lipsticks and nail polishes with names like "Factory," "Juarez," "Ghost town," "Del Norte" and "Quinceañera."

In the July issue of UK magazine Company, Jessica Alba dishes about wearing a full face of makeup at the tender age of 10. Alba's mother was in cosmetology school and used her young daughter as a test pilot. “She needed a model to practice on!” explains Alba. “[It was] for the swim team picture—full on winged eyeliner, the works.”
