Since our stars weren’t cast in any of this year’s Oscar nominated movies, we thought it would be fun to recast this year’s 10 Best Picture nominees with Latin stars. Up first: The Social Network.

Michael Trevino might be a heartthrob to the devoted fans of the CW’s hit show, The Vampire Diaries, but this Halloween the Mexican actor is going for a less sexy look. “I’m going to be Pee Wee Herman!” Trevino told Latina.com.
"I love Pee Wee and I think I could pull it off. I want to get one of my buddies and make him the arch nemesis "Francis" from Pee Wee's Big Adventure."

Do you want to see Mexican heartthrob Michael Trevino shirtless? Well, you’re in luck. The 25-year-old actor—who plays hot-tempered, soon-to-be-werewolf Tyler Lockwood on the CW’s sexy vampire drama, The Vampire Diaries, told Latina.com that the shirt is coming off. Latinos don’t fit into any one mold. We come in all shapes, sizes and colors—and our TV stars are no exception. Maria’s observation prompted us to think of other Latin TV stars who people might not know are Latin.

This week, I got an early look at the pilot for the CW’s new show The Vampire Diaries, (premiering Sept. 10)—and I didn’t like it. The show trades action, heart, laughs and respectable dialogue for tedious voiceovers from the two main characters, Elena Gilbert (Nina Dobrev) and Stefan Salvatore (Paul Wesley), as they write in their equally boring, uninteresting journals. But I did like Michael Trevino as the badass jock Tyler Stratton (more on that later).
