If you haven’t heard the news, Edward James Olmos is joining the cast of Dexter in its sixth season. The Showtime series, starring Michael C. Hall, will feature Olmos as Professor Gellar, a religious studies professor who, according to executive producer Scott Buck, “Becomes a big person of interest in some crimes that are being committed in Miami.”

Very little is known about Aimee Garcia's hush hush role on the sixth season of Showtime's Dexter, except that Garcia will be playing the new nanny to Dexter's (Michael C. Hall) son, Harrison. We caught up with the lovely Aimee (who's part-Puerto Rican and part-Mexican) to get the inside scoop on what we can expect from the new season and whether she'll be playing Dexter's love interest.

Jimmy Smits is staying in the family business—the actor has joined the cast of Showtime's hit series Dexter. According to the Hollywood Reporter, Jimmy will portray Miguel Prado, a charismatic and ambitious district attorney who comes from one of Miami's most powerful and prestigious families.
Sound familiar? It should, considering Jimmy's last role was as on CBS's ill-fated drama Cane, in which he played the charismatic and ambitious scion of the Duque clan—one of Miami's most powerful and prestigious families.
