This year’s MTV Video Music Awards are this Sunday and if history repeats itself, scheduled performer Bruno Mars will once again wow the world when he takes the stage, just like he did back in 2011. But he isn’t only Latino artist who has shined bright at the MTV VMAs. Christina Aguilera, Shakira and Mariah Carey to Pitbull and Demi Lovato, have all hit the stage and wowed the crowds.

It was a winning night for pop singer Demi Lovato at the 2012 MTV Video Music Awards last night.
The 20-year-old star rocked the pre-show stage with an energetic remixed rendition of her number one hit, “Give Your Heart a Break.” Demi shined in a sparkly black mini-dress and matching leather jacket while red confetti decorated the air.

If you're under drinking age, you probably associate MTV more with Jersey Shore than music videos. Every year, the network attempts to correct this wrong with the Video Music Awards, where the biggest stars of the year pay homage to the M in MTV. Selena Gomez has scored a major hosting gig. The 19-year-old Monte Carlo star will be hosting the 2011 MTV Video Music Awards (VMA) pre-show next week.
Held annually by MTV, the awards ceremony celebrates the best in music videos. This year’s VMAs will be held at the Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles on Aug. 28 and the pre-show will start at 8 p.m. (live Eastern Time/ tape-delayed Pacific Time).
