I am back home, and aside from being exhausted from re-adjusting to the time difference, I’d say I had quite the experience living, working and commuting in London for a month. I can’t believe a month went by so quickly! As I re-cap my trip, let me share with you all the things I loved about London. I loved that it doesn’t get dark in the evening until almost 10pm, which made summer evenings very enjoyable. And while I heard it was very rainy here in New York City, it barely rained in London at all. I loved shopping at Topshop at Oxford Circus and Selfridges department store. Apparently June is when a lot of the stores in London have big sales. Lucky me.

Here are some of the things I didn’t love: many places lacked air conditioning, including
the tube. I missed the variety of cuisine NYC has to offer and got sick of eating “chips” and “crisps." If I never see a potato again it will be too soon. I hated carrying shades, an umbrella and a pack of tights because the weather was cool, then sunny, then a light drizzle. I was always prepared for whatever Mother Nature would throw my way.

Aside from the pros and cons of London, I have a lot of fond memories of living with my five “flatmates” in our claustrophobic little apartment. I enjoyed my internship at Elemis and I learned a lot from my professors at the London College of Fashion. I noticed that I spent a lot of time there feeling like I was missing my life in New York. But the most important thing I learned in the end is that your life is where you decide to live it and make the most of it. I missed important moments in New York, but I made wonderful memories in London that I will keep with me forever.
