Last night on The X Factor, the show’s country-pop group Lakoda Rayne seemed to have finally perfected their sound.
Taste of Country reports that the girl group, which includes part-Mexican Hayley Orrantia (AKA Hayley O), finally brought a blend of southern twang with pop. Dressed in all-white outfits with country-accented accessories, Lakoda Rayne did an amazing rendition of country singer Keith Urban’s hit song “Somebody Like You.”
The group’s harmonious vibe was apparent enough for judge Nicole Scherzinger to mention. “Your presence together continues to be so natural,” Scherzinger said after they finished singing. The show had a movie theme and Lakoda Rayne chose Urban’s song from the 2003 rom-com film How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days.
Earlier this month, Orrantia spoke to Latina.com exclusively about being on the show. “It would be SO GREAT to be called the “first Latina to win X-Factor!”” she said. “I mean, seriously—I am proud of my heritage—even though there’s just a little bit of it in me. And it would be so awesome to hear that from people.”
