Christian Nodal is all about keeping his life as an artist feeling like a dream. From his very first single “Adiós Amor” in 2017 to winning a Grammy, wrapping up a fantastic 31-date arena tour, and sparking a fresh wave of regional Mexican music on the Latin charts, he’s been on quite a journey.
Now, he’s teaming up with Don Julio for their new Tequila variation, Alma Miel. Sharing his excitement ahead of a special dinner in Los Angeles to celebrate the launch, he fondly recalls celebrating his first Grammy win with Don Julio. “It felt like a dream come true when Don Julio approached me for this collaboration,” he says. “My music and Tequila are deeply connected to Mexican culture.”
To mark the occasion, Don Julio hosted the “Soul Sessions” dinner, blending Tequila, soulful vibes, and delicious food. Choza, the Mexico City gem, helmed by chef Tyler Henry, dished up native flavors like green chiles and habanero fused with fragrant Thai coconut jasmine rice and zesty cucumber mint slaw. Complementing these delectable dishes were cocktails expertly crafted with hints of citrus and costeño chile oil.
“When it comes to collaborations, I follow my passions,” Nodal explains. “Being an artist has its ups and downs, but it’s such a beautiful journey. I never want to lose that magic.” For him, it’s all about finding connections. “I choose collaborators who feel like extensions of me. Money doesn’t matter if there’s no genuine connection.”
Looking forward, Nodal is gearing up to release some new singles ahead of his album, “Pa’l Cora.” This exciting project includes a recording session in France with his mariacheño band, along with a documentary set to be released next month.
