During a recent interview, Gomez was asked about the possibility of more episodes. "Maybe!" the singer, who is also executive producer of the Netflix show, coyly responded.
"I believed in the project for so long and I understood what the message was," Gomez told E! News about her involvement in the show. "I just wanted it to come across in a way that kids [would be] frightened or confused—in a way that they would talk about it [teen suicide], because it's something that's happening all the time."
Other reports are also showing positive signs of the show's renewal. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Netflix is currently working through confirming a second season and writers have been working on it for several weeks. A definitive comment from Netflix, however, has not been given.
