Paz Vega Introduces Baby Ava to the World

"Motherhood is the greatest, something superhuman, the piece that's missing from the puzzle," says Spanish actress Paz Vega, who gave birth to her second child, Ava, on July 17. The adorable Ava joins big brother Orson, now 2, who was named after proud papi Orson Salazar.

Vega's love for her children is like "a bottomless well," she recently told Hola! magazine. "It doubles, it triples. It's inexhaustible and inexplicable." 

"Sometimes I wonder how I could ever have lived before them," she said. "In homes with children, there is light." As for giving birth, Paz said, "I remember, more than anything, the moment I heard her cry and I knew that she was alive and breathing. In that moment, you feel a great sense of peace and relief."

A key component to the domestic bliss for Vega is her happy partnership with Salazar, whom she married in 2002. The pair said they wanted two children very close in age, and that they plan on waiting a few years before having any more, though Vega definitely wants to add a third child to her brood. For now though, she's content taking a few months in Spain to enjoy her new baby girl before she returns to Los Angeles to work on pending projects.
