With the 2012 Latin Grammy Awards less than a week away, Pitbull rocks the cover of Rolling Stone’s first-ever bilingual issue on newsstands November 22nd. Mr. Worldwide leads the 15-page 'Latin Hot List' section, which also features the most influential Latino musicians and artists including, Calle 13, Sofia Vergara, Junot Díaz, and more.
“This section was an incredible opportunity for us to dive deep into Latin music and culture, from Pitbull to Café Tacuba,” expressed Nathan Brackett, Rolling Stone Deputy Managing Editor in a press release. “We are thrilled with the results.
The upcoming issue has articles written in English, but also includes sidebars in Spanish. The decision reflects the Latino demographic since 28% of Latinos in the U.S. speak only Spanish while 15% speak solely English, and the majority is fluently bilingual, according to a Nielsen study.
We hope other mainstream magazines follow in their footsteps! Are you planning on supporting the latest Rolling Stone issue?
