Researchers at Harvard University and the Massachusetts General Hospital Department of Psychiatry recently looked into how perceptions of women are affected by whether or not they are wearing makeup.
Two studies (sponsored by Proctor & Gamble) were conducted in which 100 photos of 25 women's faces were judged both without makeup and also with three different makeup looks classified as "natural," "professional" and "glamorous."

But, according to WWD, he was focused on the hair. “Every single girl who came to see me had hair that was plastered to her head,” he explained. “It was so lacquered it was like cement. I said to them, ‘If you have a boyfriend, he wouldn’t want to touch your head with hair like that.’”
