As many of you know, today was my big ultrasound! The one where they take picture after picture of globs and tell you it's the heart, the stomach, the brain, the kidneys, and you just smile and nod. Those measurements are important, especially checking to be sure there are two hands, two feet, ten fingers, ten toes and one head. However, the main reason Jeremy and I are there is to find out if we're having a girl or a boy so, here goes...

Dessa is going to have a baby sister!

Now I should warn you the ultrasound tech said she was only 80% sure. When we had Dessa I think they gave us the same odds. The tech tried showing us on the screen, "See there? Those lines?" I just smile and nod and say, "Oh, yeah." What I don't say is that it just looks like a pair of balls to me.

I actually remember having the same thought when we checked out Dessa at the big ultrasound. It's just the way the lady parts look when they're in the womb and newborn—ridiculously swollen. Jeremy was very worried when Dessa was first born but our pediatrician said all was fine and normal down under (whew!).

I told Jeremy in the parking lot that 80% percent wasn't very sure but he made a good point. He said if someone told you you had an 80% chance of dying tomorrow, you'd be pretty darn scared. You know what? He's right! So I'll take comfort in 80%, the visual of blurred lines and the fact that I didn't see anything that resembled a penis on the screen!
