The Netflix show took home the award for outstanding performance by an ensemble in a comedy series. The movie Hidden Figures also won big after winning the award for outstanding performance by a cast in a motion picture. Taraji P. Henson took a moment to talk about the immigration ban that was placed by President Donald Trump during her acceptance speech.

“This story is about unity," Henson said. “This story is about what happens when we put our differences aside and we come together as a human race. We win. Love wins. Every time."

One win that we were surprised by was when Stranger Things won for outstanding performance by an ensemble in a drama series. David Harbour, who plays Chief Jim Hopper, took the chance to take a stand and take direct aim at Trump.

"Now, as we act in the continuing narrative of 'Stranger Things,' we 1983 midwesterners will repel bullies, we will shelter freaks and outcasts -- those who have no homes -- [and] we will get past the lies, we will hunt monsters and when we are lost amidst the hypocrisy and casual violence of certain individuals and institutions, we will as per Chief Jim Hopper, punch some people in the face when they seek to destroy the weak, and the disenfranchised and the marginalized and we will do it all with soul, with heart and joy," he said.
