Research suggests that being a parent can make a person happier, more fulfilled, and more positive! While many Latina celebrities have deterred from the mamihood track, some have decided that for them, having a family is the priority.
These mamás all have beautiful families and crazy work schedules, but they always make an effort to put their children before their careers. Take a look:

Spanish actress Penelope Cruz says her children, Leo and Luna, and husband Javier Bardem, will always come first. “I’ve always been a family person,” she said while promoting her new flick the Counselor, “So that will always be a priority. But, I have to work, like everyone else, so I will find a way to balance.”
Believe it or not: Salma Hayek had ambitions of traveling to space! Now, however, the actress is prioritizing a bigger challenge -- raising her daughter, Valentina! “I reserved my place with the Virgin [Galactic] expedition,” she told InStyle, “And then I got pregnant. And now I’m a mother. So, I’m not going to go.”
The Basketball Wives star told Mamas Latinas, “My priority has always been to take care of my daughter, Shaniece, first.” Lozada, who gave birth to Shaniece when she was 17, said, “I have always been there to encourage my daughter, support, and praise her.”
Despite her success as an actress, businesswoman, and mother, Jessica Alba still hasn’t figured out how to balance it all. However, the busy mom has rearranged her schedule -- and career -- so she can spend more time with her daughters, Honor and Haven. “It’s not perfect,” she says, “I’m constantly feeling I should be spending more time at home. I installed a kids’ corner in the office...If I’m not going to be home all day, I know I’ll be home all night.”
JLO hasn’t quite given up her successful acting and singing career, but she’s definitely made some changes to spend more time with her twins, Max and Emme. “[Parenthood] totally changes your perspective on everything,” she told InStyle, “You don’t come first anymore. There’s somebody else you care more about than yourself.”

Although she hasn’t completely given up her TV career, she definitely has her priorities in order. “In life, the most important thing to me is family,” she told People, “Everything else comes and goes, but your family stays -- changing and evolving -- but they are permanent.”
Maria Canals-Barrera may have played Selena Gomez and Jake T. Austin’s fictional mother on Wizards of Waverly Place, but the cubana is a real-life mom, too! “[My husband and I ] are really enjoying raising these beautiful, little princesses.” she told Celebrity Baby Scoop, “It is exciting and rewarding. It’s so important and it means so much that my husband and I are aware of that.”
The Queen of Pop, Thalía, is also the Queen of Motherhood. The singer found a way to integrate her responsibilities as a mom into her career ambitions. Recently, the mamá wrote her first children’s book, Chupie: The Binky That Returned Home. The book was inspired by her own struggles to get her daughter to stop using her pacifier. Now, that’s a dedicated mother!
The gorgeous Brazilian model is married to Hollywood heartthrob, Matthew McConaughey. Together, they have three children: Levi, Vida, and Livingston. McConaughey has never been shy about praising his wife on her decision to take a step back from modeling to be a mom. “I’ve got a wonderful woman. It’s like a circus at home,” he told David Letterman, “She’s the ringleader of the circus.”
The CSI:Miami actress has always put her daughter, Kaya, above her career. “But really, motherhood is the most important thing to me,” she told Celebrity Baby Scoop, “So the stressful and silly things that I used to worry about before are gone. Or even the big things like career ambition and being self-driven and my lack of patience -- all of those things are no longer there.”
Balancing Devious Maids and her daughter, Sebella Rose Winters, isn’t easy! But, Roselyn Sanchez makes it work -- and she always puts her child first. “It’s a lot of work. It’s so intense when you become a parent, and you realize it’s not about you anymore,” she admitted, “It’s about what this child needs. I’m just trying to make the best individual possible to enter this world. It’s incredible.”
Nicole Richie used to be known as a party girl, Paris Hilton’s best friend, and the co-star of The Simple Life. The Mexican-American settled down once she became a mom to Harlow and Sparrow. Now, the Latina is a domestic goddess! She told People she even takes special care with her children’s food: mashing up everything from apples to green beans to bananas for her children.
