This fall, Puerto Rican actor, Erik Estrada (CHiPs) will be doing the cha-cha-cha and the pasodoble as a contestant on Univision's hit reality show ¡Mira Quien Baila! (the Spanish-language version of ABC's Dancing with the Stars). And while Estrada is keen on breaking it down on the dance floor, there's one person the iconic Latino actor definitely wont be doing the tango with anytime soon: George Lopez.
We asked Estrada, who paved the way for Latinos on TV, what he thinks about the abrupt cancellation of Lopez's late-night talk show, Lopez Tonight, and suffice it to say that the the former CHiPs star—who is known for speaking his mind—didn't dance around the issue...at all.
“His show was supposed to be cancelled after the first season, but Conan [O'Brien] wanted to keep it on,” Estrada said of TBS's decision to give Lopez Tonight the ax. Estrada said there's a reason Lopez Tonight was cancelled—karma. “There’s a lot of things people don’t know about this guy,” he said of Lopez. “For me to talk about this guy—I’m wasting my time. The law of God—the law of Karma, is on him right now. He is doomed.”
Estrada's words for Lopez are just the latest in a feud that has been going on for years. Lopez has often made fun of Estrada in his stand-up comedy and they've both traded insults. At one time, Estrada said that he even went as far as to confront Lopez at a church carnival and said that Lopez was too chicken to fight him.
