Jennifer Lopez is continuing to expand her power and influence behind the camera.

Besides developing a coming-of-age pilot about a lesbian couple for ABC, J.Lo has officially partnered with NUVO, the first English-language cable network for Latinos. The Boricua mogul and her production company, Nuyorican Productions, will develop creative programming and marketing partnership in order to expand overall viewership.

Nuvo has also signed on new investors, Veronis Suhler Stevenson and Tennenbaum Capital Partners, which has helped bring in over $110 million to the network. Jennifer, who will also have a stake in the company’s profits, said to The LA Times, “We want to create a place for people to go. Sort of a BET and HBO mixed together — but Latino.”

“I get pitched a lot of things, and I became excited about this opportunity — what we could do with NuvoTV,” said added. “I started thinking about what I watched when I was growing up in the Bronx, and I could really only think of Maria and Luis, the Latino couple on ‘Sesame Street,’ and the movie ‘West Side Story.’ There weren’t many Latinos.”

So far, NUVO’s fall line-up includes a new show with Mario Lopez titled, Mario Lopez: One-On-One, which will feature the host’s exclusive interviews with A-list celebrities.

We can't wait to see how J.Lo transforms the network. What do you think about her new media venture?
