Daily Chisme: Selena Gomez Says Mom Made her Film 'Spring Breakers'

Happy Monday! Are you ready to start your week with a little chisme? Let’s get to it!

- We have all seen Selena Gomez rocking her skimpy bikini and bad girl pose for her latest film, Spring Breakers, but before you start thinking she’s all badass and stuff the 20-year-old star admits that the sexy role wasn’t her idea in the first place. The Disney star reveals to reports that it was all her mom’s idea.

"She loves this kind of vibe," she said to reporters at a press junket. "She's super into indie movies and indie directors … I think it was more of her pushing me and being like, you should go for it."

The movie centers on Gomez’s character Faith and her best friends (Vanessa Hudgens, Ashley Benson and Rachel Korine), who hijack a fast-food restaurant in order to pay for a Florida vacation. Of course, there are plenty of racy scenes throughout the film, including one that features the star smoking out of a bong.

“I wasn't scared. I definitely wanted to do this,” she adds, “I thought it would be a great opportunity for me, and Harmony [Korine, the director] explained the movie perfectly and that's the reason why [I chose to do the film].”

Sounds like she could use some tips from former Disney star Christina Aguilera on how to pull off a “Dirrty” phase in her career, no? That sure would be interesting…
