On Sunday, Mariah Carey held a live interview on Good Morning Britain to promote her upcoming Christmas concerts in London and Paris. What she didn't expect, however, was to find out about the tragic shooting in Las Vegas moments before she went live.
The news of the mass shooting at the Route 91 Harvest Country Music Festival in Las Vegas had the world in shock, the singer included. Her interview with host Piers Morgan stayed on schedule and it covered most topics on the itinerary until Morgan switched gears to focus on the tragic event. He asked the mother-of-two – who actually has a residency at Caesars Palace in Vegas - about her thoughts on the tragedy.
The star gladly responded with her condolences and mentioned: "You know, I have spent a lot of time in Vegas and this type of thing anywhere happening anywhere is a huge tragedy." She even took to Twitter to offer more condolences to those in Las Vegas on that tragic night.
Horrified to hear about the shooting in #LasVegas. My thoughts are with the victims and their families. Praying for everyone's safety

According to ET, Morgan was later criticized for asking the Christmas star about such a sudden and sensitive issue. He too, took to Twitter to address the issues and mentioned that he thought it would be relevant given her residency in Vegas' Ceasars Palace and multiple performances there. He has also used the platform to offer his condolences.
