Shakira to Headline World Cup Closing Ceremony

Roberto Cavalli

Shakira has been announced as the headlining act for the World Cup closing ceremony, which will be held at 2:30PM on July 11, two hours before the final match between Spain and the Netherlands is scheduled to begin.

The closing concert will be a bit different from the opening ceremony. Organizing committee spokesman Jermaine Craig told press that Sunday's show at Soccer City will be "more youthful and a bit more technologically advanced."

But one thing is staying the same; Shaki will once again don an original Roberto Cavalli creation. The ensemble consists of a tulle top embellished in a colorful African-print motif, paired with a silk fringed "grass skirt" in bright yellows, fuchsias, greens, and oranges. The skirt is accented pink silk flowers and Cavalli added an embroidered denim belt to make sure that we all focus on those infamous hips of Shakira's. The whole outfit will be topped off with leather cuff bracelets decorated with feathers and floral appliqués.
