Sure, we've heard of romantic reggaetoneros...but feminist reggaetoneros? That's new. But hitmaker and new Billboard nominee Flex is defying conventional wisdom, taking a stand on violence against women in this new interview with MTV Tr3s.

Asked about the issue in the context of recent domestic violence allegations against R&B singer Chris Brown made by his girlfriend, pop star Rihanna, Flex offered his view on why violence against women is widespread across all cultures, and he also gave a message directly to male listeners.

"I think right now it's a problem not just with what happens in the home, but also with the government, with our system of justice, no? Because sometimes our justice system is very slow to work, and that's what gives leeway to all those committing violence against women all over the world; not just in Latin America, but the entire world. The law should be more effective in these types of cases...and to our men, please—let's not lay a hand on our women. Remember that a women should be respected, like a rose."
