Bruno Mars snagged the most nominations out of his fellow Latino artists for this year’s MTV European Music Awards (EMA). The part-Puerto Rican crooner scored four nods, including Best New, Best Male and Best Push. Jennifer Lopez is nominated for Best Female and is pitted against Mars for Best Song: Lopez’s “On The Floor” (featuring Pitbull) will face off against Mars’ widely popular “Grenade.”
Our main man Pitbull was also nominated for Best Hip Hop. The Cuban American rapper is up against rap heavyweights such as Eminem and Jay-Z. 19-year-old half-Mexican star Selena Gomez is included in the list of nominees for the award of Biggest Fans, which we don’t really see anyone else winning. It’s well known Selenita adores her fans, even leaving it up to them to help her create her debut fragrance. In the Best World Stage category, urban group Black Eyed Peas competes with Spanish singer Enrique Iglesias.
The 2011 EMA is set to take place in Belfast, Northern Ireland on November 6. Mexican American actress Eva Longoria hosted last year's awards, but there is no word yet on who will host this year’s ceremony.
