It's that time of year again for pop music lovers!
Christina Aguilera announced the nominees for the 2012 American Music Awards in Los Angeles yesterday. The award show, which airs November 18th, may not have a lot of Latinos in the running, but we are curious to see who will snag the award for "favorite Latin artist of the year."
Jennifer Lopez won the coveted award last year, but the "Dance Again" singer failed to make the cut this time around. Instead, Shakira is going to have to battle it out between Don Omar and Pitbull.
The Colombian pop star was named one of the most powerful Latinas according to Forbes, while the reggaetonero had a big year with his addictive hit "Danza Kuduro." Of course, the Cuban rapper, who is also nominated in the "favorite male artist" category, launched a successful world tour and is dropping his new album, Global Warming next month.
Good luck to all of our stars! Vote on who you think should win the 'favorite Latin artist of the year' category below!
