SXSW 2014 Preview: 5 Things I Can't Wait For

If you're a fan of film or music, then you have probably heart of the immensely popular South by South West (SXSW Music Film Interactive) conference in Austin, Texas. It takes place every March and is one of the most exciting things you can attend if you work in the entertainment industry and, luckily, I do.

This year I will be attending SXSW 2014 on behalf of Latina and live-tweeting what's going on behind-the-scenes. From my unique experience in getting there via Amtrak train to attending red carpet premieres of movies that you're dying to see to eating my way through the city, here are the 5 things I can't wait to experience at SXSW! Follow along to my adventures on Twitter (Latina & my own), Instagram (Latina & my own) and--or course--through the hashtag #LatinaSXSW

1. The #AmtrakLive Experience: I still can't believe that I will be taking a train all the way from Los Angeles to Austin, Texas. It's 33 hours! But I'm really excited to the #AmtrakLive experience on the Texas Eagle. My accommodations on the overnight train sound like they're pretty great and I have to admit that I am really looking forward to gorgeous views from the observation car.

2. Trying tacos in Austin, TX: Ever since I first heard about Austin Food & Fine Festival from The Latin Kitchen, I've been obsessed with checking out the Texas city's culinary scene. From what I hear, tacos are pretty much the golden ticket--and I really can't wait to try some. You may need to follow me on Instagram but, believe me, it's going to be a DELICIOUS weekend.

3. Sofia Veraga & the Chef premiere: Possibly what I am most looking forward to at SXSW is the world premiere of the new movie Chef, starring Jon Favreau, John Leguizamo and, yes, Sofia Vergara. I can't wait to see the Colombian star and ask her all about the movie, where she plays the ex-wife of Jon Favreau's chef when he quits his restaurant job and starts a food truck business.
