An ABC Comedy About A Gay Tejano Is Coming to Your TV Screens!

If you’re a novela-lover, or just a fan of television in general, then you’ll be excited to hear that ABC is coming back with an epic comedy. The currently unnamed show will be based on a Tejano who moves back to Texas with his Mexican-American family. Excited? That’s not all. The main character is moving back with his husband and their son, which will be sure to spark some pretty hilarious interactions.

What seems like a crazy situation for this television show is actually reality for some people, including the show’s writer. First picked up by DeadlineRob Sudduth "was born and raised by a Latino family in Texas, and is married to longtime The Young & the Restless actor Greg Rikaart.” The couple introduced their son to the world last year, with the sharing of this photograph on Instagram:

The story of this adorable family will try to win the hearts of Americans across the country. ABC has made other attempts in the past to showcase Latino/Hispanic families in several shows, including Cristela, which was sadly cancelled after one season. Like Cristela, these kinds of shows rarely reach the success that the George Lopez show attained, for example.

Judging from the credibility of the contributors, we expect it to be a successful one. Sudduth himself was a writer on Telenovela, The New Normal, and Red Band Society.  Casey Johnson and David Windsor, who co-created The Real O’Neals, are also responsible for making the magic happen with this show.
