Cuban actress Yara Martinez has guest starred on a number of hit shows, including ER, The Unit, and It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia, and she's perhaps best known for her recurring role as fugitive Karen Nelson—a felon who uses her feminine wiles to lure innocent victims into participating in bank heists—on NBC’s hit series, Chase.
But 2011 promises to be an even bigger year for the 31-year-old Cuban beauty – who is one of the stars of A & E’s highly anticipated drama, Breakout Kings (premiering March 13). From the creators of FOX’s hit series, Prison Break, Breakout Kings is an action-packed drama that follows an unconventional partnership between the U.S. Marshals’ office and a group of convicts as they work to catch fugitives on the run.
This year, Yara is also set to return for the third season of TNT’s hit cop drama, Southland (Tuesdays at 10 p.m.) as the wife of Detective Nate Moretta (played by Mexican actor, Kevin Alejandro). She'll have a major episode this season, and while we can't tell you what happens to her character, we can tell you that it's good!). Cheers to another Latina star in Hollywood!
