After the scandal over "anti-Semitic" remarks made during an interview on a satellite radio show that cost Rick Sanchez his job as a CNN anchor, the former broadcast journalist has kept a relatively low profile.
Sanchez has stayed in touch with loyal fans through social media networks MySpace, Twitter and Facebook. Just a few days ago, AOL Latino found Sanchez at a business luncheon with executives from the Spanish Broadcasting System's Mega TV, where a source at the luncheon told us it is quite possible that the Cuban-American journalist could be in talks to sign an exclusive deal that would make him the new face of the channel.
According to the source, Sanchez would occupy the 8/7 Central evening time slot Maria Elvira Salazar left after her contract with the network ended, it is said, to join CNN en Español, although there is no official confirmation of the move. CNN's public relations department did not return calls to AOL Latino seeking comment.
