Scotty McCreery To Sing Elimination Song on 'American Idol' Tonight

Last season’s American Idol winner Scott McCreery will hit the stage for tonight’s elimination episode. The part-Puerto Rican singer will cover the country ballad “Please Remember Me,” which was Tim McGraw’s hit single back in 1999.

McCreery has been well-embraced since winning the top spot last year. His debut album, "Clear As Day" went platinum just three months after its release. He was also named "New Artist of the Year" at December’s American Country Awards and Billboard's "Top New Country Artists of 2011."

'American Idol' Season 11 Has Latin Flavor

According to EW, the show will also honor the talented singer with a recap of the winner’s best moments on the hit Fox show. McCreery is expected to perform live later on in the season, which currently has Latinos Jeremy Rosado and Jessica Sanchez in the running to become America's next pop sensation.
