Jessica Alba is one of about a dozen A-list celebs honoring everyday heroes on the Special,"CNN Heroes: An All-Star Tribute," (airing Thanksgiving night at 8 p.m ET/5 p.m PT on CNN).
The 29-year-old actress will honor CNN Hero Guadalupe Arizpe de la Vega, a 74-year-old woman who started the nonprofit health care center, Hospital de la Familia in Juarez, Mexico over 37 years ago, and continues to make sure the center helps those in need.
CNN Heroes: An All-Star Tribute will pay tribute to de la Vega and nine other everyday heroes who are changing the world.
"CNN Heroes has illustrated the best of humanity through the telling of stories of selfless acts of kindness, courage and perseverance" said Jim Walton, president of CNN Worldwide. "It is a program the entire CNN family is proud of and excited to share with our viewers on Thanksgiving night," he said.
The Chilean miners, who were trapped underground for 69 days, and five of the men who rescued them, were also invited to attend the evening honoring heroes.
"The heroic efforts of the rescue of these miners was one of the most unifying and inspirational events of the year," Walton said.
Other celebs presenting awards to everyday heroes at this year's show include, Halle Berry, Kid Rock, Marisa Tomei and Aaron Eckhart. Grammy Award winner John Legend and rocker, Bon Jovi will also perform as part of the two-hour show.
