Kenneth Cole Celebrates 30 Years

Kenneth Cole celebrated their 30th Anniversary with a return to the runway after a 7 year hiatus with a brilliantly themed event, "Social Netwalking", focusing on the drastically evolved world we now live in populated by smart phones and social networking sites. This brave new world, with its instant gratification via live tweets and pictures via Instagram and Facebook, has transcended the fashion industry since Kenneth Cole's last runway show nearly a decade ago.

Set in an unfinished industrial building, the show featured fast walking models, hustling and bustling around the unique square runway while flocks of ravens swarmed around the walls via projection. The fast, hard music conveyed the tone of the collection: Futuristic Industrial Germany met the New York City businessman on-the-go, ever so chic, edgy and sophisticated. Amidst the powerful leather vests and dark wool jackets was a flutter of femininity. Sheer black floral lace, black and white patterns on delicate silk and mini skirts drew a distinctly female line in this androgynous collection.

Notable design elements include plastic vests/shirts with black and white cityscape patterns, silver metallic cuffs, ties and chokers, and laser cut detailing.

Celebrities lined the front row to get a firsthand look at the collection including Cuba Gooding Jr., Heidi Klum, Glenda Baily and Brooke Shields.

Latina went backstage before the show and interviewed the Jonathan Products lead Stylist about the models' sleek look. To create this edgy look at home, simply wash your hair and while it's wet, apply a generous amount of Silky Dirt – Shine & Define Creme to the crown of your head, dry with a blow-dryer with a flat comb, and complete the look with Finish Control - High Shine Flexible Hairspray.

The MAC Makeup team created a sexy chic look on the models as well: They laid the groundwork with White and C1 Sculpting Cream and Pro Conceal Light, building on the foundation with Coffee Walnut Sculpting Cream for some bronzing cheek color. For the eyes, MAC utilized Eyeglass Shadow for a bold silver lid and finished off with Black Haute and Naughty Lash Mascara. For the lips, red was the power color! Starting off with Black Black Chromographic Pencil liner, and then layering Rubywood and Cyber Pro Lip Palette, makeup artists finished the lip with Once and Cherry Glosses. All this put together and you had a diva-worthy look ready for the red carpet of Fashion Week or your favorite salsa club!
