The Barbie Dolls of 2016 Are Representing Tall, Petite and Curvy Girls

It looks like my childhood wish for a curvy Teresa (Barbie) doll in the 1990s has finally come true.

Accompanying the new skin tones and hair textures introduced last year, Barbie announced today that its Fashionista line will now offer three new body types: tall, petite and curvy.

"We are excited to literally be changing the face of the brand — these new dolls represent a line that is more reflective of the world girls see around them — the variety in body type, skin tones and style allows girls to find a doll that speaks to them," Evelyn Mazzocco, senior vice president and global general manager for Barbie, said.

In total, there will now be four body types, seven skin tones and 22 eye colors. The new Barbies are available to preorder today starting at $9.99.
