When natural disasters hit, it's in our human nature to come together and help one another.
After the 7.1 magnitude earthquake struck Mexico, tumbling down various buildings, which included schools, churches, highways -- taking the lives of many and leaving families homeless and devasted.
The people of Mexico have never been more united, everyone is coming together! Restaurants are giving away free food, civilians volunteer their services, while hotels open their doors free of charge. Mexican-American actors Gael Garcia Bernal and Diego Luna have even supported their homeland as well. The two are teaming up with Omaze and their own Ambulante Non-profit Film Festival in creating a fundraiser for those affected by the earthquake.
Both Luna and Bernal shared on their Instagram a heartfelt video along with information on how to donate:
“We launched this fundraiser to support México from abroad. Many of you have generously supported different organizations and are deeply grateful for all that you have done. We know that many of you want to continue helping. You can support via the Omaze platform every bit helps. Gracias a todos.”
They aren't the only known stars showing up for Latinos. Shawn Mendes, Salma Hayek, Mark Zuckerberg and more notable stars have been donating to Mexico City relief efforts. And let's not forget our internet personalities, Junapa Zurita a Mexican-native started a fundraiser campaign through Gofundme called Love Army Mexico for his country, along with Jerome, Ben, German, and Diego.
