Growing up as a Latina, I remember looking at magazines when I was a little girl and realizing how different I looked from everyone else. I remember thinking, when I was just 10 or 11 years old, just how big my thighs were. I was deeply ashamed of my curves and the fact that I looked different than anyone else in my class.

The lovely Sara Ramirez was one of the many celebs who joined us last night to celebrate Latina’s 15th Anniversary party at Universal Studios in Hollywood. All too often, women view swimsuit-buying season with dread and self-loathing. But it doesn’t have to be that way. Why? Because it’s another chance to shop for fashion! Slipping into a swimsuit also means an opportunity for healthful physical activity like swimming or just relaxing in the sun. Welcome this chance to show off your body, because there’s room for everyone in the sexy club.

Curvy girls, rejoice! Starting this fall, our girl Eva Mendes will be featured in a worldwide print and outdoor ad campaign for Calvin Klein Underwear, the company announced this week. Mendes will help Calvin Klein launch a new brand of intimate apparel called “Seductive Comfort,” which will focus on fit and support while, of course, keeping true to the brand’s naturally sexy style. Mendes also recently signed on to be the face of Calvin Klein's Fall 2008 fragrance campaign, so the company has been showing her much love despite her brief (and totally mysterious) stint in rehab.
