Jennifer Lopez is a living legend, and today the iconic Latina turns forty. As the richest person of Latin American descent in Hollywood (according to Forbes) she is a lot of things to a lot of people: actress, singer, mogul and mother. There is simply nothing that La Lopez can't do. We admire the fearless way she has handled herself, so we decided to take a look back at some of the most important moments of her career and personal life.
Feliz Cumpleaños, Jennifer, and thanks for all the years of entertainment!

Jennifer Lopez is back in action, filming The Back-Up Plan, her first lead role since the birth of her twins. She's starring as Zoe, a young woman who is artificially inseminated on the very same day she meets Mr. Right. J. Apparently, Miami Dolphin’s owner Stephen Ross wasn’t kidding when he said he wanted his team’s ownership to mirror the diversity of South Florida. About a month ago Gloria and Emilio Estefan purchased a minority share of the NFL team. But the Estefan's didn't have much time to revel in the fact that they were the first Cuban-American owners of any NFL team. Marc Anthony quickly followed suit, also buying into partial ownership of the Miami franchise.

Marc Anthony hasn’t given us an album since the El Cantante soundtrack came out in 2007. Sure, in that time he married Jennifer Lopez and became the father of twins Max and Emme, but shouldn’t all that love fuel his creative juices? I was inspired to dust off my copy of the Puerto Rican crooner’s Sigo Siendo Yo: Grandes Exitos after hearing his duet with La Quinta Estación’s Spanish vocalist Natalia Jiménez.

For us "common folk," losing baby weight can be really difficult and adding insult to injury, many celebrities—with an army of nutritionists, personal trainers and nannies—make it seem super easy to get back into pre-baby shape. Jennifer Lopez, however, kept it real in a recent interview with Entertainment Tonight, admitting that losing the baby weight after the birth of her twins, Max and Emme, was really difficult.

J Lo and husband Marc Anthony were in talks with TLC to star in their own reality show of sorts, but TMZ reports the network has cooled on the idea. The problems began early on when Lopez refused to include her children in the deal, instead choosing to focus on the creation of a new fragrance—not exactly must-see TV.

Jennifer Lopez was spotted over the weekend taking in husband March Anthony’s sold out concert at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel in Hollywood, Florida. Jennifer was rocking a grass skirt (clearly not the pinnacle of her fashion career) while shaking that infamous booty of hers. Seated in a special VIP section next to the stage, the boricua multi-hyphenate was so into the show that she couldn't contain herself and jumped out of her chair more than once to cheer on her man and dance.

Further proving that someone in Hollywood is out to sabotage Jennifer Lopez's career, CBS Films has decided to cast Alex O'Loughlin, a virtual unknown, as her male co-star in the upcoming romantic comedy, Plan B (or The Back-Up Plan, depending on whether you're reading Variety or The Hollywood Reporter).

Just because Jennifer Lopez and Marc Anthony are putting on their shiny, happy couple face in public doesn't mean they've fully reconciled. A source tells the Daily News "Gatecrasher" that there are still major problems bubbling under the surface.

Like any good mami, Jennifer Lopez can't stop gushing about her twins. At the opening of fashion haven Topshop in New York last night, Us asked the boricua star about babies Max and Emme and she was more than happy to share new details. "Oh God, I could talk for a year about that!" said Lopez. "They're very in-tune with each other. They're walking, they’re talking, they're babbling a lot—all of that kid stuff.
