Orlando Cruz, the first openly gay boxer, is dedicating his fight in Kissimmee, Florida Friday night to the 49 victims of the Pulse shooting, four of whom were his friends.

When professional boxer Orlando Cruz came out and said he is a "proud gay man," he made history as the first openly gay man in boxing.
"I've been fighting for more than 24 years and as I continue my ascendant career," Cruz said in October 2012. "I want to be true to myself. I want to try to be the best role model I can be for kids who might look into boxing as a sport and a professional career."
