Heartbreaking news for Selena Gomez and her family. According to E! Online, the part-Mexican singer/actress canceled two concerts scheduled this past weekend because her mother reportedly suffered a miscarriage. The website is reporting that Gomez’s rep cited a “family emergency” as the reason for the concerts being canceled.

It’s less than a month away from the series finale of Selena Gomez’s Wizards of Waverly Place. The Emmy-winning Disney show, which helped catapult the part-Mexican teen singer/actress to superstardom, will end on January 6, 2012. When news first broke that season four would be the show’s last, Gomez spoke exclusively to Latina about it.

—Spanish Duchess De Alba attended the premiere of Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol with Tom Cruise on her arm! According to Blogamole, the 85 year-old hit the red carpet with the movie star who she had befriended when he was filming Knight & Day with Cameron Diaz in Spain. She attended that premiere as well.

Talk about a New Year’s Eve party chock-full of Latino celebrities! MTV’s NYE IN NYC 2012 is set to be co-hosted by part-Mexican singer Demi Lovato, and part-Mexican Teen Wolf star Tyler Posey.
Posey said in an MTV press release, “I love the MTV New Year's Eve Special and am excited to be co-hosting it with Demi Lovato.”

—Season two of Nickelodeon mystery series House of Anubis is underway. According to JustJared.com, the show, which stars 19 year-old Spanish-American actress Nathalia Ramos, has been filming the new season for the past six months in Liverpool, England.

— Really exciting news for Benicio del Toro. The Boricua Academy Award-winning actor reportedly made his directorial debut in Cuba. According to Fox News Latino, 44-year-old Del Toro directed a short, part of a seven-short film. Titled The Yuma, Del Toro’s short is about a young American who travels to Havan. Cuba, for the city’s annual film festival.
