Tessa Thompson stepped out in Hollywood to support her upcoming film Little Woods on Monday.
Thompson posed on the pink carpet alongside her award winning director Nia DaCosta and co-star Luke Kirby ahead of a special screening held at Neueuhouse.
The crime thriller tells the story of Ollie (Thompson), a young woman dealing with a sick mother whose house is in foreclosure. How will she come up with the funds needed to pay the bank?
She might have to go back to selling drugs to make up the large amount owed, but that'll will cause even more problems!
British star Lily James plays Ollie's adopted sister Deb, who also needs money in order to terminate a pregnancy.
"The movie felt deeply personal and exciting for me, because I think we also have the chance to humanize things that are often politicized," Thompson told Vulture.
"You know, like the opiate crisis in this country, or access to health care, or reproductive rights.
The movie sees people inside of that, and not just ideas. To me the fact that it’s centralized: The heart of these sisters’ dynamic is that you really feel like you’re on a journey that’s deeply personal. Wow, I’m getting emotional."
Little Woods opens in theaters on April 19.
