<h2><b>20. La Guru, &#8220;Perra Melancólica&#8221;</b></h2>
<p><iframe title="YouTube video player" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/VqSlyZQSnIM?si=TD7CPX0LBiDyK_We" width="560" height="315" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen="allowfullscreen"></iframe></p>
<p><a href="https://www.instagram.com/lagurudelsabor/?hl=en"><span style="font-weight: 400;">La Guru</span></a><span style="font-weight: 400;"> got the break of a lifetime when Karol G invited her to perform on &#8220;The Juanpis Live Show&#8221; in April. The rising Colombian artist, who’s breathed new life into traditional Latin genres with an alternative edge, sang her breakthrough hit &#8220;Perra Melancólica&#8221; alongside La Bichota. With her bewitching banger—which became an anthem about the struggle of overcoming a toxic relationship—La Guru indicates her resolve to reshape Latin music with dark emotional depth.</span></p>
<h2><b>19. Bellakath, &#8220;Vaquero&#8221; Remix with La Dinastia, El Malilla, and El Bogueto</b></h2>
<p><iframe title="YouTube video player" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/yi4KZyxPTcc?si=DgDp56ln9UWpv-km" width="560" height="315" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen="allowfullscreen"></iframe></p>
<p><a href="https://www.instagram.com/ladinastiaoficialreg/?hl=en"><span style="font-weight: 400;">La Dinastia</span></a><span style="font-weight: 400;"> brought together the new leaders of the reggaeton Mexa movement on a remix of &#8220;Vaquero.&#8221; </span><a href="https://www.instagram.com/labellakath/?hl=en"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Bellakath</span></a><span style="font-weight: 400;">, who scored the first global hit in the scene with 2022&#8217;s &#8220;</span><a href="https://latina.com/new-music-picks-cardi-b-mabiland-bellakath-and-more/"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Gatita</span></a><span style="font-weight: 400;">,&#8221; jumped on the track with </span><a href="https://www.instagram.com/elmalilla_/?hl=en"><span style="font-weight: 400;">El Malilla</span></a><span style="font-weight: 400;"> and </span><a href="https://www.instagram.com/elbogueto/?hl=en"><span style="font-weight: 400;">El Bogueto</span></a><span style="font-weight: 400;">. In an otherwise all-men collaboration, Bellakath held it down for women in reggaeton Mexa, stealing the show with her fierce and flirty verses. </span></p>
<h2><b>18. Goyo, &#8220;Cuando Te Vi&#8221;</b></h2>
<p><iframe title="YouTube video player" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/tatrIChsEEw?si=88AluH6nByKC7vv4" width="560" height="315" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen="allowfullscreen"></iframe></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Though </span><a href="https://www.instagram.com/goyo/?hl=en"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Goyo</span></a><span style="font-weight: 400;"> is known as a core member of ChocQuibTown, she is continuing to establish herself as a solo star. Following the 2022 release of her debut album </span><a href="https://latina.com/a-reintroduction-to-goyo-the-afro-colombian-artist-on-her-debut-solo-album-en-letra-de-otro/"><i><span style="font-weight: 400;">En Letra de Otro</span></i></a><span style="font-weight: 400;">, the Colombian singer and rapper has released a string of fiery and feel-good singles. In the alluring &#8220;Cuando Te Vi,&#8221; Goyo displayed a more seductive and soulful side to </span><i><span style="font-weight: 400;">La Pantera</span></i><span style="font-weight: 400;">. </span></p>
<h2><b>17. Elena Rose &amp; Maria Becerra, &#8220;Pa&#8217; Qué Volviste?&#8221;</b></h2>
<p><iframe title="YouTube video player" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/EmHS8ACVnwk?si=KlSjXTbDJODp3pVk" width="560" height="315" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen="allowfullscreen"></iframe></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">After </span><a href="https://latina.com/latin-hit-maker-elena-rose-is-blossoming-into-a-pop-star/"><span style="font-weight: 400;">writing hits</span></a><span style="font-weight: 400;"> for artists like Selena Gomez, Christina Aguilera, Becky G, and </span><a href="https://www.instagram.com/mariabecerra/?hl=en"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Maria Becerra</span></a><span style="font-weight: 400;">, </span><a href="https://www.instagram.com/elenarose/"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Elena Rose</span></a><span style="font-weight: 400;"> is becoming a Latina pop star in her own right. The Venezuelan-American singer teamed up with Becerra for the cumbia-infused collaboration &#8220;Pa&#8217; Qué Volviste?&#8221; In this girl-power anthem, both women sing about an ex attempting to enter back into their lives—and how they plan to kick him to the curb.</span></p>
<h2><b>16. Jessie Reyez, &#8220;Just Like That&#8221; with Ari Lennox</b></h2>
<p><iframe title="YouTube video player" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/eMtm83B_LPk?si=rum-yUkrr_TIkCzU" width="560" height="315" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen="allowfullscreen"></iframe></p>
<p><a href="https://www.instagram.com/jessiereyez/?hl=en"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Jessie Reyez</span></a><span style="font-weight: 400;"> spent the past year releasing stellar collaborations. The Colombian-Canadian star teamed up with Lil Wayne for &#8220;Ridin&#8221; and then joined forces with Big Sean on &#8220;Shut Up.&#8221; Two of the best voices in R&amp;B today collided when </span><a href="https://www.instagram.com/arilennox/"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Ari Lennox</span></a><span style="font-weight: 400;"> joined Reyez on the captivating &#8220;Just Like That.&#8221; Tossing elements of bolero into the recipe, Reyez uses imaginative and refreshing methods to blend her worlds.</span></p>
<h2><b>15. Danna, &#8220;Platonik&#8221;</b></h2>
<p><iframe title="YouTube video player" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/vidXAklN_Jg?si=1PSvCaBkoOaIA_d8" width="560" height="315" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen="allowfullscreen"></iframe></p>
<p><a href="https://www.instagram.com/danna/?hl=en"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Danna</span></a><span style="font-weight: 400;"> made a big career move this year when she dropped her last name from her stage name. The Mexican pop star also released her most personal album &#8220;Childstar,&#8221; which included the standout &#8220;Platonik,&#8221; a sultry song in which Danna opens up about having a crush on another woman. As she reclaims her narrative, Danna&#8217;s star continues to rise as the voice of Elphaba in the Spanish-language dub of the &#8220;Wicked&#8221; movie.</span></p>
<h2><b>14. Anitta, &#8220;Aceita&#8221;</b></h2>
<p><iframe title="YouTube video player" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/oyhlZhUjaeQ?si=NAGADuMuBIXPyfS7" width="560" height="315" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen="allowfullscreen"></iframe></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">After solidifying her mainstream crossover with 2022&#8217;s &#8220;Versions of Me,&#8221; </span><a href="https://www.instagram.com/anitta/?hl=en"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Anitta</span></a><span style="font-weight: 400;"> used her platform to put a spotlight on the gritty sounds of Brazil with this year&#8217;s </span><i><span style="font-weight: 400;">Funk Generation</span></i><span style="font-weight: 400;"> album. A standout on the LP: the empowering &#8220;Aceita,&#8221; which blends Brazilian funk with elements of EDM. Anitta is not afraid to push buttons with the song&#8217;s music video, which celebrated the traditions of her Afro-Brazilian faith Candomblé. </span></p>
<h2><b>13. RaiNao, &#8220;Roadhead&#8221; with Tainy</b></h2>
<p><iframe title="YouTube video player" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/y0UHZWcS8NY?si=Daaw1qL-36BZU6F9" width="560" height="315" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen="allowfullscreen"></iframe></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">After generating buzz for the past few years as an alternative voice in reggaeton, </span><a href="https://www.instagram.com/rainaopr/?hl=en"><span style="font-weight: 400;">RaiNao</span></a><span style="font-weight: 400;"> released her debut album &#8220;Capicú&#8221; in February. The rising Puerto Rican star linked up with a pioneer of the genre for the standout track &#8220;Roadhead,&#8221; an R&amp;B-infused reggaeton ode to hooking up in the car produced by certified hit-maker </span><a href="https://www.instagram.com/tainy/"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Tainy</span></a><span style="font-weight: 400;">. Even better: The steamy music video celebrated LGBTQ+ romance, showing the openly queer singer getting intimate with men and women.</span></p>
<h2><b>12. Belinda &amp; Kenia Os, &#8220;Jackpot&#8221;</b></h2>
<p><iframe title="YouTube video player" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/3wPAy-wpxbM?si=SNpy0Jkc5TQ5HpuG" width="560" height="315" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen="allowfullscreen"></iframe></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">For the first time in her career, </span><a href="https://www.instagram.com/belindapop/?hl=en"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Belinda</span></a><span style="font-weight: 400;"> teamed up with another female Mexican artist. The Spanish-Mexican icon joined forces with </span><a href="https://www.instagram.com/keniaos/?hl=en"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Kenia Os</span></a><span style="font-weight: 400;"> for the dreamy &#8220;Jackpot.&#8221; After releasing corridos like &#8220;Cactus&#8221; and &#8220;300 Noches&#8221; featuring Natanael Cano, Belinda returned to pop with a refreshing house music edge. In this hypnotic collaboration, Belinda and Kenia Os sang about how being with them would be like winning big on a slot machine. </span></p>
<h2><b>11. Becky G &amp; Delilah, &#8220;Todo&#8221;</b></h2>
<p><iframe title="YouTube video player" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/lUCVuIEe3Ts?si=y5QKqn6iwLlHBeog" width="560" height="315" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen="allowfullscreen"></iframe></p>
<p><a href="https://www.instagram.com/iambeckyg/?hl=en"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Becky G</span></a><span style="font-weight: 400;"> teamed up with a rising star in música Mexicana for the most genre-bending moment on </span><i><span style="font-weight: 400;">Encuentros</span></i><span style="font-weight: 400;">. The Mexican-American star enlisted </span><a href="https://www.instagram.com/delilah_cabreraa/?hl=en"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Delilah</span></a><span style="font-weight: 400;">, the first woman to sign on Natanael Cano&#8217;s Los CT label, for the soaring &#8220;Todo.&#8221; Becky G beautifully blended her pop spin on música Mexicana with the rock-infused sound that Delilah is bringing to the genre. Hearing these two Chicanas come together on the same song was everything. </span></p>
<h2><b>10. Daymé Arocena, &#8220;Por Ti&#8221; </b></h2>
<p><iframe title="YouTube video player" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/qvWvDyJwg_c?si=Ns_0jOVNliqykAyB" width="560" height="315" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen="allowfullscreen"></iframe></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">After making her mark in jazz, </span><a href="https://www.instagram.com/daymearocena/?hl=en"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Daymé Arocena</span></a><span style="font-weight: 400;"> now aims for domination in the pop star realm. The Cuban star moved to Puerto Rico where she worked on her latest album &#8220;Alkemi&#8221; with former Calle 13 member Eduardo Cabra. Arocena masterfully melded her worlds in the Caribbean with R&amp;B, jazz, and pop throughout the LP, especially in the commanding &#8220;Por Ti.&#8221; In 2023, she </span><a href="https://latina.com/for-cuban-artist-dayme-arocena-finding-her-own-voice-was-a-matter-of-survival/"><span style="font-weight: 400;">told </span><i><span style="font-weight: 400;">Latina</span></i></a><span style="font-weight: 400;">, &#8220;This is the beginning of a new moment in my career and I am doing as much as I can to make this </span><i><span style="font-weight: 400;">pop</span></i><span style="font-weight: 400;">.&#8221;</span></p>
<h2><b>9. The Marías, &#8220;Lejos De Ti&#8221;</b></h2>
<p><iframe title="YouTube video player" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/RpR8DDOK1r0?si=mlesaYt2ZwLQYTuU" width="560" height="315" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen="allowfullscreen"></iframe></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Throughout 2024, </span><a href="https://www.instagram.com/themarias/?hl=en"><span style="font-weight: 400;">The Marías</span></a><span style="font-weight: 400;"> continued their seamless navigation between indie pop and Latin music while bridging those worlds within the band&#8217;s music. Their second album &#8220;</span><a href="https://latina.com/aquatic-inspirations-the-marias-submarine-and-maria-zardoyas-role-in-suerte/"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Submarine</span></a><span style="font-weight: 400;">&#8221; was inspired by lead singer María Zardoya and fellow founding member Josh Conway breaking up. Zardoya tapped into her Puerto Rican roots to sing in Spanish about being haunted by the memory of an ex in &#8220;Lejos De Ti,&#8221; seeing The Marías channel a difficult time into an ethereal and vulnerable gem.</span></p>
<h2><b>8. Ela Taubert, &#8220;¿Cómo Pasó?&#8221; with Joe Jonas</b></h2>
<p><iframe title="YouTube video player" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/RZhHI8SnmG8?si=PfH5LZTuhgGaXGQ3" width="560" height="315" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen="allowfullscreen"></iframe></p>
<p><a href="https://www.instagram.com/elataubert/?hl=en"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Ela Taubert</span></a><span style="font-weight: 400;"> got a big boost in her career when Karol G invited her to open her concerts in Bogotá. After that breakthrough, the Colombian singer-songwriter gained a massive following with her breakup anthem &#8220;¿Cómo Pasó?&#8221; </span><a href="https://www.instagram.com/joejonas/?hl=en"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Joe Jonas</span></a><span style="font-weight: 400;"> later came out as a fan of Taubert when he joined her on a Spanglish version of the global hit. In November, she proved to be the future of Latin pop by winning Best New Artist at the 2024 Latin Grammy Awards. </span></p>
<h2><b>7. Yeri Mua, &#8220;Traka&#8221; </b></h2>
<p><iframe title="YouTube video player" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/eJS0WziQHGw?si=kB_YEa4n5_9dv4mf" width="560" height="315" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen="allowfullscreen"></iframe></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Yeri Mua spent 2024 making the jump from beauty influencer to a leader of the reggaeton Mexa movement. After signing with Sony in June, the rising Mexican star hit back at her haters with the defiant &#8220;Traka.&#8221; Known for speaking her mind on social media, Mua unleashed a fierce and in-your-face anthem about her triumphs that keep people talking. And the chatter is far from stopping: In early December, TikTok </span><a href="https://www.elgrafico.mx/espectaculos/yerimua-domina-ranking-global-tiktok-este-es-un-logro-para-mexico"><span style="font-weight: 400;">revealed</span></a><span style="font-weight: 400;"> that she was the number-one artist globally on the platform in 2024. </span></p>
<h2><b>6. Young Miko &amp; Villano Antillano, &#8220;Madre&#8221;</b></h2>
<p><iframe title="YouTube video player" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/vvg2X4wD_Tk?si=wWdhlj9pZpJUq0J8" width="560" height="315" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen="allowfullscreen"></iframe></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">After spending the past few years becoming a leading LGBTQ+ voice in reggaeton, </span><a href="https://www.instagram.com/itsyoungmiko/?hl=en"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Young Miko</span></a><span style="font-weight: 400;"> released her debut album </span><i><span style="font-weight: 400;">att</span></i><span style="font-weight: 400;">. in April 2024. The Puerto Rican rapper paid tribute to the Ballroom scene with &#8220;Madre,&#8221; which interpolated the house anthem &#8220;Pump Up the Jam&#8221; by Technotronic. Young Miko upped the queer and femme power of this empowering anthem with fellow Boricua </span><a href="https://www.instagram.com/villanoantillano/?hl=en"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Villano Antillano</span></a><span style="font-weight: 400;"> in the mix.</span></p>
<h2><b>5. Tokischa &amp; Nathy Peluso, &#8220;De Maravisha&#8221;</b></h2>
<p><iframe title="YouTube video player" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/fxqJUGSJqNI?si=Hu441-f7g1IqjRUJ" width="560" height="315" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen="allowfullscreen"></iframe></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Two of the Latinas who are changing the game in the music joined forces. </span><a href="https://www.instagram.com/tokischa.sol/?hl=en"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Tokischa</span></a><span style="font-weight: 400;"> teamed up with </span><a href="https://www.instagram.com/nathypeluso/?hl=en"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Nathy Peluso</span></a><span style="font-weight: 400;"> for the genre-bending banger &#8220;De Maravisha.&#8221; At first, Tokischa and Peluso trade hard-hitting bars about being bosses over trap beats. The women then let their hair down at the halfway point when reggaeton rhythms take over, colliding the Dominican Republic and Argentina by way of New York City in a fresh new girl-power anthem. </span></p>
<h2><b>4. Lismar, &#8220;BZRP Music Sessions #60&#8221; with Bizarrap</b></h2>

<p><a href="https://www.instagram.com/slowlismar/"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Lismar</span></a><span style="font-weight: 400;"> made her debut this year in the biggest way possible. The rising Dominican rapper was tapped by Argentine producer </span><a href="https://www.instagram.com/bizarrap/?hl=en"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Bizarrap</span></a><span style="font-weight: 400;"> for his &#8220;BZRP Music Sessions #60.&#8221; Lismar wrapped her versatile and fierce rap flow around Bizarrap&#8217;s trap, EDM, and Jersey club beats with ease. Her explosive bars couldn&#8217;t be contained to one song, so the duo also released the fiery &#8220;Subió La Temperatura&#8221; on the same day. Lismar’s takeover of Latin hip-hop is just getting started. </span></p>
<h2><b>3. Shakira &amp; Cardi B, &#8220;Puntería&#8221;</b></h2>
<p><iframe title="YouTube video player" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/SHnDwYgGKkY?si=rXA6sm2z64GByFp1" width="560" height="315" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen="allowfullscreen"></iframe></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Following a heartbreaking, high-profile split in 2022, </span><a href="https://www.instagram.com/shakira/"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Shakira</span></a><span style="font-weight: 400;"> returned with a vengeance with her &#8220;Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran&#8221; album, proving that the “She Wolf” is back on the prowl with her single “Puntería,” a sexy and vibrant bop that saw the Colombian pop icon team up with Dominican-American rapper </span><a href="https://www.instagram.com/iamcardib/?hl=en"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Cardi B</span></a><span style="font-weight: 400;"> Together, Shakira and Cardi hit a bullseye with their synth-pop ode to a lover that hits all the right spots.</span></p>
<h2><b>2. Karol G, &#8220;Si Antes Te Hubiera Conocido&#8221;</b></h2>
<p><iframe title="YouTube video player" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/MgsdDfdGdHc?si=iPTPZ89UxFVUO8YY" width="560" height="315" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen="allowfullscreen"></iframe></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">After becoming the top woman in reggaeton, </span><a href="https://www.instagram.com/karolg/?hl=en"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Karol G</span></a><span style="font-weight: 400;"> is also showing that she&#8217;s a Latina pop queen, with the Colombian superstar taking a detour from the genre that she&#8217;s known for in the sunny &#8220;Si Antes Te Hubiera Conocido.&#8221; Karol G explored merengue rhythms for the first time while singing about not giving up on romance, turning forlorn hypotheticals of </span><i><span style="font-weight: 400;">what if </span></i><span style="font-weight: 400;">into a certified tropical smash which reaffirmed that her success is not limited to one genre.</span></p>
<h2><b>1. Kali Uchis, &#8220;Igual Que Un Ángel&#8221; with Peso Pluma</b></h2>
<p><iframe title="YouTube video player" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/YR1t_MUN8I4?si=fuSSdOXfE3gbojbI" width="560" height="315" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen="allowfullscreen"></iframe></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">After making her mark in Latin music with &#8220;Telepatía&#8221; in 2020, </span><a href="https://www.instagram.com/kaliuchis/?hl=en"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Kali Uchis</span></a><span style="font-weight: 400;"> once again stuck the perfect balance between her two worlds with &#8220;Igual Que Un Ángel,&#8221; wherein the Colombian-American star sings in Spanglish about an angelic lover in the disco-infused banger. A pleasant and welcome surprise: the addition of Mexican singer </span><a href="https://www.instagram.com/pesopluma/"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Peso Pluma</span></a><span style="font-weight: 400;">, whose raspy vocals add a sensual side to the song. Through this dazzling collaboration—which has played nonstop in my headphones, for the record—Uchis and Peso Pluma proved to be a dream team and, while we can’t wait to see what each does next on their own, we’re keeping our fingers crossed that these two will partner up again soon.</span></p>

The big winner of the night was Colombian superstar <a href="https://www.instagram.com/karolg/?hl=en">Karol G</a> with nine awards. Though she wasn’t in attendance, Latin stars <a href="https://www.instagram.com/donomar/?hl=en">Don Omar</a>, <a href="https://www.instagram.com/anitta/?hl=en">Anitta</a>, <a href="https://www.instagram.com/grupofrontera/">Grupo Frontera</a>, <a href="https://www.instagram.com/carinleonoficial/?hl=en">Carin León</a>, and others delivered memorable performances with surprise guests like <a href="https://www.instagram.com/machinegunkelly/?hl=en">Machine Gun Kelly</a> and <a href="https://www.instagram.com/kanebrown/?hl=en">Kane Brown</a>. Here’s six of our favorite moments from the all-star event. </p>
<h3>Don Omar Revisits His Classics With Machine Gun Kelly and Anitta</h3>
<p><iframe width="560" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/YhbIxS0EWOo?si=QTgCI8AraBFPJ3b2" title="YouTube video player" frameborder="0" allow="accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share" allowfullscreen></iframe></p>
<p><a href="https://www.instagram.com/donomar/?hl=en">Don Omar</a> was honored with the Global Icon award for being a reggaeton music pioneer. The Puerto Rican legend received the award from <a href="https://www.instagram.com/anitta/?hl=en">Anitta</a>, <a href="https://www.instagram.com/wisinyyandel/?hl=en">Wisin y Yandel</a>, and <a href="https://www.instagram.com/machinegunkelly/?hl=en">Machine Gun Kelly</a>. &#8220;You and I are from different worlds, but your music brought us together tonight,&#8221; Machine Gun Kelly told Don Omar. Don Omar then performed a medley of his greatest hits, including &#8220;Salió El Sol&#8221; with Anitta and &#8220;Sandunga&#8221; with Wisin y Yandel. Machine Gun Kelly then pulled out his guitar to perform an electrifying version of &#8220;Danza Kuduro&#8221; with him. </p>
<h3>Carin León and Kane Brown’s Country Music Crossover</h3>
<p><iframe width="560" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/7gX2FHQYX2Y?si=yUGPX8KN_yBo4Kvo" title="YouTube video player" frameborder="0" allow="accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share" allowfullscreen></iframe></p>
<p><a href="https://www.instagram.com/carinleonoficial/?hl=en">Carin León</a> is proving that regional Mexican music isn&#8217;t all that different from country music. The Mexican superstar teamed up with country star <a href="https://www.instagram.com/kanebrown/?hl=en">Kane Brown</a> to perform their new single &#8220;The One (Pero No Como Yo).&#8221; León and Brown&#8217;s crossover collaboration seamlessly blended both their worlds of music as they delivered heartfelt performances. León won four Premio Lo Nuestro awards, including two for his genre-bending collaboration &#8220;Según Quién&#8221; with Maluma. </p>
<h3>Grupo Frontera’s Powerhouse Performance with Arcángel</h3>
<p><iframe width="560" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/-BZLQf6PGiY?si=fMhLIRJmCc2XRVwb" title="YouTube video player" frameborder="0" allow="accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share" allowfullscreen></iframe></p>
<p>There was a strong regional Mexican music presence at Premio Lo Nuestro last night. Another standout crossover took place with <a href="https://www.instagram.com/grupofrontera/">Grupo Frontera&#8217;s</a> heartfelt performance. The Mexican-American group performed the emotional track &#8220;ALV&#8221; with reggaeton icon <a href="https://www.instagram.com/arcangel/?hl=en">Arcángel</a>. The voice of Adelaido &#8220;Payo&#8221; Solís III, who is the lead singer of Grupo Frontera, soared as he belted the band&#8217;s baby-come-back anthem &#8220;Quédate Bebé.&#8221; When <a href="https://www.instagram.com/maluma/?hl=en">Maluma </a>opened the show, he also sang a pair of regional Mexican songs including &#8220;Bling Bling.&#8221; Later, <a href="https://www.instagram.com/nattinatasha/">Natti Natasha</a> performed her Mexican-inspired track &#8220;Ya No Te Extraño.&#8221;</p>
<h3>Anitta’s Fierce Medley Featuring Bad Gyal</h3>
<p><iframe width="560" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/UD9UdZvd0F0?si=8WiqrhqJ_XNmipWT" title="YouTube video player" frameborder="0" allow="accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share" allowfullscreen></iframe></p>
<p><a href="https://www.instagram.com/anitta/?hl=en">Anitta </a>performed a captivating medley of her recent hits. The Brazilian superstar opened her set with her freaky reggaeton banger &#8220;Bellakeo.&#8221; Mexican singer Peso Pluma didn&#8217;t join her to sing the song, but his raspy vocals could still be heard. Rising Spanish artist <a href="https://www.instagram.com/akabadgyal/?hl=en">Bad Gyal</a> then emerged to sing &#8220;Bota Niña&#8221; live for the first time with Anitta. Both women grinded on each other during the playful performance. Anitta then proudly represented Brazil with her alluring song &#8220;Mil Veces,&#8221; which embraces her country&#8217;s melodic funk sound. </p>
<h3>Camilo and Evaluna Montaner’s Pregnancy Reveal</h3>
<p><iframe width="560" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/HE2juaEMtus?si=wCka2Nt_3-zNyIFu" title="YouTube video player" frameborder="0" allow="accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share" allowfullscreen></iframe></p>
<p><a href="https://www.instagram.com/camilo/?hl=en">Camilo </a>and his wife <a href="https://www.instagram.com/evaluna/">Evaluna Montaner</a> are one of Latin music&#8217;s most beloved couples. In 2022, Camilo and Evaluna, who is the daughter of <a href="https://www.instagram.com/montaner/">Ricardo Montaner</a>, became parents with the birth of their first child Índigo. During the adorable performance of their salsa-infused track &#8220;Plis,&#8221; they revealed that a second child is on the way. Camilo proudly kissed Evaluna&#8217;s baby bump. On Instagram, they announced that the baby&#8217;s name will be Amaranto.</p>
<h3>Emilia and Tini Share a Kiss</h3>
<p><iframe width="560" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/OlwL28YBlbQ?si=HMtHI46H4X73kpYg" title="YouTube video player" frameborder="0" allow="accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share" allowfullscreen></iframe></p>
<p><a href="https://www.instagram.com/emilia/?hl=en">Emilia </a>is on a mission to bring Latin pop music back to the forefront. The Argentine star hit the Premio Lo Nuestro stage with a medley of hits from her album &#8220;.MP3.&#8221; First, she performed &#8220;No_Se_Ve.mp3,&#8221; which blends EDM and Brazilian funk music. Emilia gave a shout-out to her collaborator, Brazilian artist <a href="https://www.instagram.com/ludmilla/?hl=en">Ludmilla</a>. Fellow Argentine singer <a href="https://www.instagram.com/tinistoessel/?hl=en">Tini</a> then joined Emilia onstage for a fierce performance of &#8220;La_Original.mp3,&#8221; which culminated with them sharing a friendly kiss. </p>

<p>Notably, <a href="https://www.instagram.com/badbunnypr/?hl=en">Bad Bunny </a>made history as the first Latin headliner at Coachella last year, delivering <a href="https://latina.com/the-top-latin-moments-at-coachella-2023/">a hits-filled set</a> with special guests like Grupo Frontera, José Feliciano, and Post Malone. However, this year&#8217;s headliners include Lana Del Rey, Tyler, the Creator, and Doja Cat, with no specific Latin headliner. <p>This year introduces several Mexican acts making their Coachella debuts, including R&#038;B singer <a href="https://www.instagram.com/girlultra/?hl=en">Girl Ultra</a>, indie pop trio <a href="https://www.instagram.com/itslatinmafia/?hl=en">Latin Mafia</a>, and emerging folk star <a href="https://www.instagram.com/kevinkaarl/">Kevin Kaarl</a>. Peso Pluma, who played a pivotal role in popularizing <a href="https://latina.com/the-mexican-sound-wave-regional-music-takes-center-stage/">música Mexicana</a> globally last year, will deliver his own set after joining Becky G&#8217;s last year. Mexican crooner <a href="https://www.instagram.com/carinleonoficial/?hl=en">Carín León</a> will also represent música Mexicana at the festival. </p>

<p>After having an incredible year as an emerging artist, Dominican-American rapper, Ice Spice will also hit the stage. Mexican lyricist <a href="https://www.instagram.com/santa_fe_klan_473/?hl=en">Santa Fe Klan</a> will be representing the rap scene as well and singer <a href="https://www.instagram.com/eddiezuko/?hl=en">Eddie Zuko</a>, known for his reggae-infused Spanglish tunes, is set to make an appearance too. Infusing the scene with his Afro-Caribean grooves will be Cuban singer-songwriter <a href="https://www.instagram.com/cimafunk/?hl=en">Cimafunk</a>.</p>
<p>Additional unique Latin acts on the lineup include the instrumental stylings of <a href="https://www.instagram.com/hermanosgutierrez/">Hermanos Gutiérrez </a>and the alternative cumbia of<a href="https://www.instagram.com/sonrompepera/?hl=en"> Son Rompe Pera</a>. The culmination of countless memories and hits came to life at the Puerto Rican producer&#8217;s Data Loading 360 concert on Friday night. After emerging as an artist with his groundbreaking album &#8220;Data&#8221; last year, Tainy returned to his roots, delivering a mesmerizing live performance to a sold-out crowd at the iconic <a href="https://coliseodepuertorico.com/">Coliseo</a> in San Juan, Puerto Rico. Sharing the stage with frequent collaborators such as <a href="https://www.instagram.com/badbunnypr/?hl=en">Bad Bunny</a>, <a href="https://www.instagram.com/rauwalejandro/?hl=en">Rauw Alejandro</a>, <a href="https://www.instagram.com/arcangel/?hl=en">Arcángel</a>, Luny Tunes, and more, Tainy created an unforgettable experience.</p>
<p>Having been a key player in reggaeton&#8217;s global breakthrough in the 2000s, Tainy has consistently remained at the forefront of the genre. As a teenager, he found mentorship under the guidance of the Dominican production duo Luny Tunes, known for crafting hits for artists like <a href="https://www.instagram.com/daddyyankee/">Daddy Yankee</a>, <a href="https://www.instagram.com/tegocalderon/?hl=en">Tego Calderón</a>, and <a href="https://www.instagram.com/donomar/">Don Omar</a>. Collaborating with contemporary stars such as Bad Bunny, <a href="https://www.instagram.com/jbalvin/?hl=en">J Balvin</a>, and <a href="https://www.instagram.com/karolg/?hl=en">Karol G</a>, Tainy played a pivotal role in the genre&#8217;s revival in the last decade. In 2023, he channeled his wealth of experience and creative prowess from behind the console into his debut solo album &#8220;Data,&#8221; pushing reggaeton and Latin music into uncharted territories.</p>

<p>Following a Grammy nomination for Best Música Urbana Album, Tainy&#8217;s Data Loading 360 concert felt like a triumphant journey into 2024. Commencing with a poignant poem by José Raúl &#8220;Gallego&#8221; Gonzalez, Tainy kicked off the night by playing his earliest hits, including Wisin y Yandel&#8217;s &#8220;El Telefono&#8221; and &#8220;Pam Pam,&#8221; along with &#8220;Dejale Caer To’ El Peso&#8221; by Hector &#8220;El Father.&#8221; Paying homage to reggaeton&#8217;s roots, he brought Luny Tunes and Nely &#8220;El Arma Secreta&#8221; onstage to perform classics like &#8220;Dale Don Dale,&#8221; &#8220;Contacto,&#8221; and &#8220;Llamé Pa&#8217; Verte.&#8221; Notably, Tainy&#8217;s album incorporated a virtual guest appearance by Sena, the anime character from the album cover.</p>
<p>Explaining the significance, Tainy stated, &#8220;Bringing Sena to life was a central theme of tonight&#8217;s show—it&#8217;s about the fusion of music, emotion, and storytelling.&#8221;</p>

<p>Transitioning to the present day, Tainy showcased his recent productions and songs, with <a href="https://www.instagram.com/jhayco/?hl=en">Jhayco</a> joining him for &#8220;Como Se Siente&#8221; and &#8220;FANTASMA AVC.&#8221; Rauw Alejandro took the stage to perform &#8220;Party,&#8221; while rising Puerto Rican talent <a href="https://www.instagram.com/alvaritodiaz/?hl=en">Álvaro Díaz</a> collaborated with both artists on &#8220;Paranormal.&#8221; Special guests Arcángel and <a href="https://www.instagram.com/itsyoungmiko/">Young Miko</a> made appearances, and Bad Bunny joined Tainy to conclude the concert with performances of their global hits, including &#8220;La Santa,&#8221; &#8220;No Me Quiero Casar,&#8221; and &#8220;Callaita.&#8221;</p>
<p>The Data Loading 360 concert epitomized the significance of Tainy&#8217;s contributions to reggaeton and showcased his enduring impact on the genre&#8217;s history. Much like the enduring impact of the songs he has produced, Tainy&#8217;s name is now receiving the recognition it has long deserved as both an artist and visionary.</p>

Icons like <a href="https://www.instagram.com/shakira/">Shakira</a>, <a href="https://www.instagram.com/karolg/?hl=en">Karol G</a>, and <a href="https://www.instagram.com/itsyoungmiko/?hl=en">Young Miko</a> played pivotal roles in propelling Latin music to new global heights. Meanwhile, <a href="https://www.instagram.com/iambeckyg/?hl=en">Becky G</a> proudly embraced her Mexican heritage, infusing her artistry with cultural richness. <a href="https://www.instagram.com/keniaos/">Kenia Os</a>, <a href="https://www.instagram.com/emilia/?hl=en">Emilia</a>, and <a href="https://www.instagram.com/dannapaola/?hl=en">Danna Paola</a>, in turn, revitalized the Latin pop scene with their undeniable talents. And amidst the musical landscape, a wave of fresh Latina stars emerged, capturing hearts and playlists alike—<a href="https://www.instagram.com/jnoamusic/?hl=en">J Noa</a>, <a href="https://www.instagram.com/gale/?hl=en">GALE</a>, and <a href="https://www.instagram.com/conexiondivina/?hl=en">Conexión Divina</a> being among the rising luminaries. </p>
<p>Without further ado, join LATINA as we unveil the definitive list of the 20 best songs of 2023 by Latinas, a testament to the diversity and dynamism that defined this extraordinary year.</p>
<h4><strong>20. Sofia Reyes and Danna Paola, “tqum”</h4>
<p></strong></p>
<p><iframe width="560" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/wmm1PcS1eDQ?si=vSK9QbHKBAwP6HnA" title="YouTube video player" frameborder="0" allow="accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share" allowfullscreen></iframe></p>
<p><a href="https://www.instagram.com/sofiareyes/?hl=en">Sofia Reyes</a> ventured into hyperpop, making history as one of the first Latin artists to do so. Collaborating with compatriot Danna Paola, they delivered the bubbly heartbreak anthem &#8220;tqum,&#8221; exploring the theme of longing for an ex while on a long airplane ride. This refreshing collaboration is featured on Reyes&#8217; third album, &#8220;Milamores.&#8221;</p>
<h4><strong>19. Nicki Nicole and Milo J, “Dispara”</h4>
<p></strong></p>
<p><iframe width="560" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/XsSpBZXW538?si=vXEIRwS--01OtjYD" title="YouTube video player" frameborder="0" allow="accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share" allowfullscreen></iframe></p>
<p>In her most personal and empowering album to date, <a href="https://www.instagram.com/nicki.nicole/?hl=en">Nicki Nicole </a>channels heartbreak into the standout track &#8220;Dispara.&#8221; Teaming up with <a href="https://www.instagram.com/milo.j/?hl=en">Milo J</a>, the Argentine singer uses cutting lyrics to metaphorically unload a magazine of bullets, asserting her strength and resilience against her naysayers. Nicole describes the album as a healing journey, <a href="https://latina.com/nicki-nicole-bares-her-soul-in-alma/">as shared with LATINA</a> back in May.</p>
<h4><strong>18. Mon Laferte, “NO+SAD”</h4>
<p></strong></p>
<p><iframe width="560" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/cFBq47ofihY?si=ROS9GmY6WfbjvYdq" title="YouTube video player" frameborder="0" allow="accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share" allowfullscreen></iframe></p>
<p><a href="https://www.instagram.com/monlaferte/">Mon Laferte </a>returned with the experimental album &#8220;Autopoiética,&#8221; featuring the defiant reggaeton-infused track &#8220;NO+SAD.&#8221; The Chilean icon showed that any genre can become alternative with her adventurous touch while delivering a fierce message about harnessing the power of women&#8217;s resilience against discrimination, harassment, and sexism.</p>
<h4><strong>17. Conexión Divina and Gabito Ballesteros, “Paso a Pasito”</h4>
<p></strong></p>
<p><iframe width="560" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/aro15HWm54o?si=iY7AIUBclLZaMP_-" title="YouTube video player" frameborder="0" allow="accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share" allowfullscreen></iframe></p>
<p>Breaking barriers in the male-dominated regional Mexican music scene, Conexión Divina represents the voice of women. After <a href="https://latina.com/conexion-divina-is-representing-women-in-sierreno-at-coachella/">a notable performance at Coachella</a>, the all-girl sierreño group released their debut album, &#8220;Tres Mundos,&#8221; featuring the fiery standout track &#8220;Paso a Pasito&#8221; with Mexican singer <a href="https://www.instagram.com/gabitoballesteros/?hl=en">Gabito Ballesteros</a>. The song harmonizes on withstanding life&#8217;s challenges.</p>
<h4><strong>16. Bad Gyal, Young Miko, and Tokischa, “Chulo, Pt. 2”</h4>
<p></strong></p>
<p><iframe width="560" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/tnbpWZNAT_Y?si=Zkl7cyo0icPHDCSC" title="YouTube video player" frameborder="0" allow="accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share" allowfullscreen></iframe></p>
<p><a href="https://www.instagram.com/akabadgyal/?hl=en">Bad Gyal&#8217;s</a> breakthrough hit &#8220;Chulo&#8221; gained momentum with the stellar remix featuring Puerto Rico&#8217;s <a href="https://www.instagram.com/itsyoungmiko/?hl=en">Young Miko</a> and the Dominican Republic&#8217;s <a href="https://www.instagram.com/tokischa.popola/?hl=en">Tokischa</a>. The remix not only amplified girl power but also turned the song into a queer-positive club banger. The upcoming release of Bad Gyal&#8217;s debut album, &#8220;La Joia,&#8221; is highly anticipated for January 26, 2024.</p>
<h4><strong>15. Kali Uchis and Karol G, “Labios Mordidos”</h4>
<p></strong></p>
<p><iframe width="560" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/hBJc4koVHLs?si=hQMqKmqCRn2aaqwD" title="YouTube video player" frameborder="0" allow="accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share" allowfullscreen></iframe></p>
<p>As <a href="https://www.instagram.com/kaliuchis/?hl=en">Kali Uchis</a> prepares to release her second Latin album, &#8220;Orquídeas,&#8221; she joins forces with fellow Colombian queen Karol G for &#8220;Labios Mordidos.&#8221; The alluring reggaeton track sees Uchis and Karol G celebrating womanhood, with Uchis proudly expressing her bisexual identity in this explosive collaboration.</p>
<h4><strong>14. Anitta, “Used to Be”</h4>
<p></strong></p>
<p><iframe width="560" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/VY1RkyD24Ms?si=HU9jj3Kxo6Okc3V0" title="YouTube video player" frameborder="0" allow="accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share" allowfullscreen></iframe></p>
<p>Undergoing significant changes in her career, <a href="https://www.instagram.com/anitta/?hl=en">Anitta</a> left Warner to join the Universal label roster, taking more control of her music. In &#8220;Used to Be,&#8221; she continues to globalize <a href="https://latina.com/regional-mexican-and-brazilian-artists-are-on-the-rise/">Brazilian funk</a> by blending it with EDM, singing in English, Spanish, and Portuguese about settling down after indulging in life&#8217;s pleasures.</p>
<h4><strong>13. Goyo, “Tumbao”</h4>
<p></strong></p>
<p><iframe width="560" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/RlMv5KGECSA?si=ehOv2VZ-jeBjtx8G" title="YouTube video player" frameborder="0" allow="accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share" allowfullscreen></iframe></p>
<p>In addition to her work with ChocQuibTown, <a href="https://www.instagram.com/goyo/?hl=en">Goyo</a> shines as a solo artist. The Colombian superstar, the first Afro-Latina artist to perform at this year&#8217;s more inclusive Victoria&#8217;s Secret fashion show, combines funky rhythms and reggaeton in the empowering anthem &#8220;Tumbao.&#8221; Goyo celebrates the power of her &#8220;tumbao&#8221; that has shaped her into the fierce woman she is today.</p>
<h4><strong>12. Melanie Martinez, “Death”</h4>
<p></strong></p>
<p><iframe width="560" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/Nhx9QDuqpDM?si=RBAcMwz8yD62gKLG" title="YouTube video player" frameborder="0" allow="accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share" allowfullscreen></iframe></p>
<p>After reinventing herself from her &#8220;Crybaby&#8221; persona, <a href="https://www.instagram.com/littlebodybigheart/?hl=en">Melanie Martinez</a> emerges as one of the top alternative acts of the year. The singer-songwriter of Dominican and Puerto Rican descent returns with the twisted track &#8220;Death&#8221; from her &#8220;Portals&#8221; album. Martinez has a knack for delivering dark messages, such as a eulogy for who she used to be, in bright and biting pop songs like this. </p>
<h4><strong>11. Ice Spice and Nicki Minaj, “Princess Diana” Remix</h4>
<p></strong></p>
<p><iframe width="560" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/gMq-I0dejjE?si=04gDkD9XYuUKBV8u" title="YouTube video player" frameborder="0" allow="accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share" allowfullscreen></iframe></p>
<p><a href="https://www.instagram.com/icespice/?hl=en">Ice Spice</a>, one of this year&#8217;s breakout stars, pushes the drill music scene forward with her debut EP &#8220;Like..?&#8221; In the fierce banger &#8220;Princess Diana,&#8221; she flaunts her baddie swagger and receives a powerful co-sign from Trinidadian icon <a href="https://www.instagram.com/nickiminaj/?hl=en">Nicki Minaj</a>. Ice Spice&#8217;s nomination for Best New Artist at the 2024 Grammy Awards solidifies her impact.</p>

GALE sings about shaking off heartbreak by hitting the dance floor.</p>
<h4><strong>7. Emilia, “GTA.mp3”</h4>

<h4><strong>4. Young Miko, “Lisa”</h4>

<p><iframe width="560" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/Y7a_s5OCD5A?si=UlGdd2KJgpXiDCuZ" title="YouTube video player" frameborder="0" allow="accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share" allowfullscreen></iframe></p>

<p>A seismic shift occurs when two Colombian queens, Karol G and Shakira, collaborate on &#8220;TQG.&#8221; Both artists cut down their exes while uplifting each other in this knockout track. Karol G anticipates the significance of their collaboration, stating, &#8220;It’s incredible that we have this moment with this female collaboration in front of the world.&#8221; Karol G makes history as &#8220;Mañana Será Bonito&#8221; becomes the first all-Spanish album by a woman to open atop the Billboard 200 chart.</p>
<h4><strong>1. Shakira and Bizarrap, “BZRP Music Sessions #53”</h4>
<p></strong></p>
<p><iframe width="560" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/CocEMWdc7Ck?si=j-PscNxNG6KNJ6q6" title="YouTube video player" frameborder="0" allow="accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share" allowfullscreen></iframe></p>
<p>Undoubtedly, 2023 belongs to Shakira. The Colombian icon turns heartbreak into a cathartic anthem in collaboration with Argentine producer <a href="https://www.instagram.com/bizarrap/">Bizarrap</a> on &#8220;BZRP Music Sessions #53.&#8221; This globally impactful session sees Shakira cleverly addressing her ex, Gerard Piqué, and his alleged infidelity. Her empowering lyric, &#8220;Women don’t cry anymore, women get paid,&#8221; encapsulates her current state of empowerment. Shakira unleashes her inner &#8220;She Wolf&#8221; once again, delivering one of pop&#8217;s most savage takedowns.</p>

The Dominican superstar is balancing being a mother and one of reggaeton&#8217;s leading ladies after her partner, <a href="https://www.instagram.com/raphypina/?hl=en">Raphy Pina</a>, was sent to prison. With her new album &#8220;Nasty Singles,&#8221; Natasha is reclaiming the word “nasty” and showing that there&#8217;s more to it than just a negative or sexual connotation. She is healing and working through the adversity in this fierce collection of songs. </p>
<p>&#8220;This is a nasty era,&#8221; she tells LATINA. &#8220;It&#8217;s about being unapologetic and very comfortable with myself. I&#8217;ve had a lot of ups and downs. This past year, I&#8217;ve felt like I&#8217;ve grown and it&#8217;s been about overcoming the obstacles.&#8221;</p>
<p>After breaking through with<a href="https://www.instagram.com/donomar/"> Don Omar&#8217;s</a> &#8220;<a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x622Sqjub-s">Dutty Love</a>&#8221; over a decade ago, Natasha has positioned herself as one of the top female artists in reggaeton. In May 2021, she gave birth to her first child, Vida Isabelle, with Pina. A year later, Pina was sentenced to serve 41 months in prison following an illegal firearms conviction. Natasha continued to raise their baby while releasing hits, including the fiery &#8220;<a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mBYSHwr-p0g">Mayor Que Usted</a>&#8221; featuring reggaeton icons <a href="https://www.instagram.com/daddyyankee/?hl=en">Daddy Yankee</a> and <a href="https://www.instagram.com/wisinyyandel/?hl=en">Wisin y Yandel</a>.</p>
<p>&#8220;Through everything that has happened, I feel like I&#8217;ve learned a lot about my career, myself and the things I can overcome by myself,&#8221; she says. &#8220;Once you take a bad situation and make it a good one, so many good things can come out of that. I make sure that I have the best attitude ever. It could always be worse and it&#8217;s not. We&#8217;re healthy and we have everything in life that we could want.&#8221;</p>
<p>Now Natasha is compiling her recent hits and new songs in the &#8220;Nasty Singles&#8221; album. She defines what &#8220;nasty&#8221; means to her: &#8220;It&#8217;s the extreme of each person, feeling and the adjectives that describe them. For example, when a woman is super beautiful, she&#8217;s nasty beautiful.&#8221; Natasha finds power in the word, especially in the tigress anthem &#8220;Kokorota,&#8221; which she dedicates to her daughter.</p>
<p><iframe width="560" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/enfHYulju3Q?si=mncxqwSH17hiyvrP" title="YouTube video player" frameborder="0" allow="accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share" allowfullscreen></iframe></p>
<p>&#8220;She&#8217;s a baby, but I definitely want her to be [a &#8216;Kokorota&#8217;] when she grows up,&#8221; Natasha says. &#8220;When I&#8217;m doing my makeup, she wears makeup. She loves lipstick. She takes the microphone and sings. She dances a lot. I really make it my business to let her have fun and be creative around me.&#8221;</p>
<p>In her album, Natasha also embraces the sexual connotation of being &#8220;nasty.&#8221; In the dembow-infused &#8220;<a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mU_76_inxLs">To&#8217; Esto Es Tuyo</a>,&#8221; she sings about giving herself completely to the man that she loves. Natasha also teamed up with fellow Dominican star <a href="https://latina.com/for-tokischa-pushing-the-envelope-is-part-of-her-art/">Tokischa</a> for the freaky reggaeton romp &#8220;<a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OZ4ZImLHK00">No Pare</a>.&#8221; The risqué music video drew criticism from sexist people with backward thoughts about motherhood and sexuality.</p>
<p>&#8220;I haven&#8217;t cared about what anybody has said,&#8221; she says. &#8220;You could be nasty beautiful. You could be nasty sexy. You can be anything you want. It doesn&#8217;t matter if you&#8217;re a mother or not. I feel more beautiful now. I feel more empowered. I feel like my best self now after becoming a mother.&#8221;</p>
<p>Though the album is personal to her, Natasha adds that &#8220;Nasty Nat&#8221; is also an alter-ego. &#8220;Each song is a character,&#8221; she says. &#8220;It&#8217;s like being an actress in a song. Like Julia Roberts plays a prostitute in &#8220;Pretty Woman&#8221; but in real life she&#8217;s not a prostitute.&#8221;</p>
<p>Natasha also reclaims the word &#8220;b**ch&#8221; in Spanish in the perreo-ready &#8220;<a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tCBgFpK2QsM">Tu Perrota</a>.&#8221; She previously did that in 2018 with <a href="https://latina.com/becky-g-on-her-regional-mexican-album-touring-using-her-platform-for-good/">Becky G</a> in &#8220;Sin Pijama&#8221; when she sang, &#8220;I have always been a lady, but I&#8217;m a b**ch in bed.&#8221; In addition to uplifting women, Natasha&#8217;s bold songs have also become anthems for the LGBTQ+ community, which she acknowledges.</p>
<p><iframe width="560" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/zEf423kYfqk?si=WxUAwiUpdBB7lca7" title="YouTube video player" frameborder="0" allow="accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share" allowfullscreen></iframe></p>
<p>&#8220;When I talk about overcoming obstacles, I&#8217;m talking about for everybody,&#8221; Natasha says. &#8220;I&#8217;m talking about freedom as well now that everyone can express themselves and who they are even more. I&#8217;ve always been very outspoken about the things that I want to express and say. With [‘Tu Perrota,’] I want to see everyone in heels and with makeup. I want to see everyone&#8217;s vibe.&#8221;</p>
<p>With this album, Natasha is taking risks by pushing reggaeton to new places. She seamlessly blends Afrobeats in her post-breakup banger &#8220;<a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XADSub-h2cs">Otro Caption</a>.&#8221; Natasha then mixes elements of música Mexicana in the brassy kiss-off track &#8220;<a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EWmyO1yWKls">Ya No Te Extraño</a>.&#8221; The personal evolution she experienced this past year is also manifesting itself in her music.</p>
<p>&#8220;Art is art, so I feel like you just have to play with it and not take it so seriously,&#8221; she says. &#8220;I feel like I&#8217;m going to connect with people differently. I want my fans to connect with a nasty feeling of their own through these songs.&#8221;</p>

Plus, the emergence of Mexican-American singer <a href="https://www.instagram.com/xaviiiofficiall/?hl=en" rel="noopener" target="_blank">XAVI</a> and Venezuelan pop star <a href="https://www.instagram.com/carmendeleon/?hl=en" rel="noopener" target="_blank">Carmen DeLeon</a>. </p>
<h4>Chiquis, “La Que Manda”</h4>
<p><iframe width="560" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/fX2QDouqw9M?si=1JcFnUIzYiAW30nY" title="YouTube video player" frameborder="0" allow="accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share" allowfullscreen></iframe></p>
<p><a href="https://www.instagram.com/chiquis/?hl=en" rel="noopener" target="_blank">Chiquis</a> is closing out the year with a new album. The Mexican-American superstar&#8217;s &#8220;Bee Side&#8221; LP is a continuation of last year&#8217;s &#8220;Abeja Reina.&#8221; The album includes her perreo electrónico hit <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=91ZHyzrDHCI" rel="noopener" target="_blank">&#8220;Ni Muerta&#8221; </a>featuring <a href="https://www.instagram.com/snowthaproduct/?hl=en" rel="noopener" target="_blank">Snow Tha Product</a>. Chiquis continues to proudly represent banda music in the fierce &#8220;La Que Manda,&#8221; which was written by <a href="https://www.instagram.com/carlamorrison/" rel="noopener" target="_blank">Carla Morrison</a>. In the triumphant track, she sings about self-love and calling the shots in her Latin Grammy-winning career. &#8220;It is a project that reflects my growth and versatility as an artist and singer-songwriter,&#8221; Chiquis told LATINA. &#8220;[It&#8217;s] an album that reflects my essence, passion, and love for music.&#8221;</p>
<h4>Thalia and Estilo Sin Límite, “Choro”</h4>
<p><iframe width="560" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/DeD3qfcB3rM?si=gt-Btd7FrTnZ4Aw8" title="YouTube video player" frameborder="0" allow="accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share" allowfullscreen></iframe></p>
<p><a href="https://www.instagram.com/thalia/?hl=en" rel="noopener" target="_blank">Thalia</a> has officially entered her corridos tumbados era. The Mexican pop icon teamed up with <a href="https://www.instagram.com/estilosinlimite_150/" rel="noopener" target="_blank">Estilo Sin Límite</a>, the musical project of Dania Ivana, for her new single &#8220;Choro.&#8221; In the fiery kiss-off track, Thalia and Ivana take turns singing about living better lives without their exes. The song will be included on her upcoming EP &#8220;A Mucha Honra,&#8221; which will be released next year. Back in May, Thalia talked about exploring <em>corridos tumbados</em> when <a href="https://latina.com/thalia-revisits-rock-en-espanol-with-the-genres-icons-in-mixtape/" rel="noopener" target="_blank">she told LATINA,</a> &#8220;I’m the number one fan of that genre. As a Mexican, imagine how I feel. I’m the original and authentic ‘Amor A La Mexicana!'&#8221;</p>
<h4>Feid and Mañas Rufino, “La Vuelta”</h4>
<p><iframe width="560" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/yUMHAwXu84o?si=T9V7wNvlt0tqtQec" title="YouTube video player" frameborder="0" allow="accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share" allowfullscreen></iframe></p>
<p>Just in time for December, <a href="https://www.instagram.com/feid/?hl=en" rel="noopener" target="_blank">Feid</a> gives his fans the Christmas gift of a new EP. In &#8220;Ferxxocalipsis,&#8221; the Colombian superstar blends his country&#8217;s hip-hop scene with the sentimental reggaeton that he&#8217;s known for. Feid teams up with two of the top rappers from his hometown of Medellín. <a href="https://www.instagram.com/manas_ru_fino/" rel="noopener" target="_blank">Mañas Rufino</a> joins him in the alluring reggaeton track &#8220;La Vuelta&#8221; and<a href="https://www.instagram.com/jhayp.ma/" rel="noopener" target="_blank"> Jhay P</a> drops in for the dreamy <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sflCsnRzI14" rel="noopener" target="_blank">&#8220;Yo Ak.&#8221;</a> Feid also highlights <a href="https://www.instagram.com/pirloconpowerr/?hl=en" rel="noopener" target="_blank">Pirlo</a>, a rapper from Cali, in the hypnotic banger <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b3LSVDQPbxU" rel="noopener" target="_blank">&#8220;Cual Es Esa.&#8221;</a> Their collaboration is teeming with <em>caleño</em> slang. </p>
<h4>Daymé Arocena, “American Boy”</h4>
<p><iframe width="560" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/dERnS0uw-2w?si=8mJztENJMSo8B2E7" title="YouTube video player" frameborder="0" allow="accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share" allowfullscreen></iframe></p>
<p><a href="https://www.instagram.com/daymearocena/?hl=en" rel="noopener" target="_blank">Daymé Arocena</a> is blazing a path for herself in Latin pop. The Cuban singer-songwriter moved to San Juan, Puerto Rico and she incorporated those Caribbean sounds into her music. With her new single &#8220;American Boy,&#8221; Arocena shows a different side to her artistry with the empowering disco-pop anthem. &#8220;You are supposed to clone and fuse yourself in order to conceal your Black or indigenous side,&#8221; she shared in a statement. &#8220;They told me I didn’t fit in that [pop] world, but I’m going to prove them wrong.&#8221; Arocena&#8217;s next album &#8220;Al-Kemi&#8221; will be released on February 23, 2024.</p>
<h4>Joel Deleōn, “No Te Veo”</h4>
<p><iframe width="560" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/FLaNSiGWIvg?si=xI2UaQiurILJsbBb" title="YouTube video player" frameborder="0" allow="accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share" allowfullscreen></iframe></p>
<p><a href="https://www.instagram.com/joeldeleon/?hl=en" rel="noopener" target="_blank">Joel Deleōn</a> has officially made his debut as a solo artist. Over two years after leaving CNCO, the Mexican-American singer released his debut EP &#8220;Ahora Me Escuchan???&#8221; Deleōn mostly explores reggaeton across the six tracks, including in the buckwild <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EZloL0VLIXc" rel="noopener" target="_blank">&#8220;Yo-Shi&#8221;</a> and in the perreo-ready song <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2ump8hCUkTg" rel="noopener" target="_blank">&#8220;Ponte.&#8221;</a> He seamlessly brings together the worlds of pop and reggaeton in the otherworldly &#8220;No Te Veo.&#8221; About the message behind the EP, Deleōn told LATINA, &#8220;I want listeners to take the chance of being daring and doing something that people don&#8217;t know you for doing.&#8221;</p>
<h4>Wisin and Young Miko, “Señorita”</h4>
<p><iframe width="560" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/uhqFMesRAzw?si=UHxDCl7NLWFYDbwm" title="YouTube video player" frameborder="0" allow="accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share" allowfullscreen></iframe></p>
<p>A Puerto Rican reggaeton icon is teaming up with the future of the genre. <a href="https://www.instagram.com/wisin/?hl=en" rel="noopener" target="_blank">Wisin</a> joined forces with Young Miko for his new single <a href="https://www.instagram.com/itsyoungmiko/?hl=en" rel="noopener" target="_blank">&#8220;Señorita.&#8221;</a> In the freaky reggaeton track, Wisin and Young Miko sing about women who are driving them wild in the club. It&#8217;s great to see one-half of Wisin y Yandel share his shine with one of his island&#8217;s biggest openly queer acts. &#8220;Miko is a talented artist that I admire and respect and she is doing incredible things within the genre,&#8221; Wisin shared in a statement. </p>
<h4>XAVI, “La Diabla”</h4>
<p><iframe width="560" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/HfzbN5ky5Co?si=3BIMmGZA7k96ywKG" title="YouTube video player" frameborder="0" allow="accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share" allowfullscreen></iframe></p>
<p><a href="https://www.instagram.com/xaviiiofficiall/?hl=en" rel="noopener" target="_blank">XAVI </a>has become the next rising star in regional Mexican music to watch out for. The Mexican-American singer went viral this past year thanks to his breakthrough hit <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Mi-NXEGjAvg" rel="noopener" target="_blank">&#8220;La Víctima,&#8221;</a> which amassed over 39 million views on YouTube. Now XAVI is following that up with the red-hot sierreño track &#8220;La Diabla.&#8221; Backed by what he has called his &#8220;tumbado romantico&#8221; sound, he sings about being enamored with a baddie at the party. XAVI is hard at work on his debut album that is due out next year through Interscope Records. </p>
<h4>Carmen DeLeon, “Que Chimbo”</h4>
<p><iframe width="560" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/Y-rRwyBUDVE?si=jqR2-KPLw9hS5dng" title="YouTube video player" frameborder="0" allow="accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share" allowfullscreen></iframe></p>
<p><a href="https://www.instagram.com/carmendeleon/?hl=en" rel="noopener" target="_blank">Carmen DeLeon</a> is proudly representing her home country of Venezuela in her music. The rising Latin pop star released her new single, the breezy &#8220;Que Chimbo.&#8221; The title is Venezuelan slang that roughly translates to &#8220;nuisance&#8221; in English. Backed by reggaeton-infused rhythms, DeLeon sings about how she is much happier without her ex in her life. &#8220;My intention is to convey strength and encouragement to anyone who, for some reason, has experienced a romantic disappointment,&#8221; she told LATINA. &#8220;At that moment, I felt the energy to dance away from heartbreak and finally smile at life.&#8221;</p>

In honor of International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women on November 25, Roxiny released her new single &#8220;The Knife.&#8221; She channels the adversity that she has faced into an empowering rock anthem. &#8220;I hope the song helps other girls like me to find the courage to heal and love what they see when they look within,&#8221; Roxiny told LATINA. &#8220;No one can take away your power.&#8221;</p>

The EP includes five songs, including the triumphant &#8220;Ganadora&#8221; and the funky &#8220;Piernas De Agua.&#8221; The music video features Cami performing all the songs in the wilderness of southern Chile. &#8220;For a long time, I&#8217;ve wanted to record in the middle of nature, because it&#8217;s a place where I feel comfortable and where my creativity reaches a virtuoso level,&#8221; she told LATINA.</p>
<h4>Kany García, “Una Buena Vida”</h4>
<p><iframe width="560" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/Ful2u5mkTks?si=0KMTQ2JiVihQxhlc" title="YouTube video player" frameborder="0" allow="accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share" allowfullscreen></iframe></p>

The top winners included Colombian superstars <a href="https://www.instagram.com/shakira/?hl=en" rel="noopener" target="_blank">Shakira</a> and<a href="https://www.instagram.com/karolg/?hl=en" rel="noopener" target="_blank"> Karol G </a>while acts like <a href="https://www.instagram.com/pesopluma/" rel="noopener" target="_blank">Peso Pluma</a>, <a href="https://www.instagram.com/feid/?hl=en" rel="noopener" target="_blank">Feid</a>, and <a href="https://www.instagram.com/rauwalejandro/?hl=en" rel="noopener" target="_blank">Rauw Alejandro</a> delivered memorable performances. Here&#8217;s five of our favorite moments from the all-star event, which took place in Seville, Spain. </p>
<h4>Karol G Makes History</h4>
<p><iframe width="560" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/U6ohfTXSKBE?si=aA65_hcG9_Q7Odj8" title="YouTube video player" frameborder="0" allow="accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share" allowfullscreen></iframe></p>
<p><a href="https://www.instagram.com/karolg/?hl=en" rel="noopener" target="_blank">Karol G</a> took home three Latin Grammy awards last night. The Colombian superstar made history when she became the first woman to win Best Urban Music Album for &#8220;Mañana Será Bonito.&#8221; Karol G later triumphed in the top category when she also won Album of the Year. With tears in her eyes, she said in Spanish, &#8220;It&#8217;s an honor to receive this award in front of many people who I admire and honor in music.&#8221; Karol G shared her third win with Shakira for Best Urban Fusion/Performance category for their collaboration &#8220;TQG.&#8221;</p>
<h4>Shakira’s Two Incredible Performances</h4>
<p><iframe width="560" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/XdXg0Z67PIM?si=Dyr4RlajmrgwhRAi" title="YouTube video player" frameborder="0" allow="accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share" allowfullscreen></iframe></p>
<p><a href="https://www.instagram.com/shakira/?hl=en" rel="noopener" target="_blank">Shakira</a> also took home three Latin Grammy awards last night. The Colombian pop icon won Song of the Year and Best Pop Song for her kiss-off anthem &#8220;BZRP Music Sessions, Vol. 53&#8221; with <a href="https://www.instagram.com/bizarrap/?hl=en" rel="noopener" target="_blank">Bizarrap</a>. Shakira also graced the event with two performances. First, she sang her heartfelt ballad &#8220;Acróstico&#8221; with her sons, Sasha and Milan. She later tore up the stage with a fierce performance of &#8220;BZRP Music Sessions, Vol. 53&#8221; during Bizarrap&#8217;s set. While accepting one of her awards, Shakira hinted that she will tour again soon.</p>
<h4>Eslabon Armado &#038; Peso Pluma Finally Perform Together</h4>
<p><iframe width="560" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/pQwD2ggjYnw?si=fZjUDtCNlk_X3w-H" title="YouTube video player" frameborder="0" allow="accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share" allowfullscreen></iframe></p>
<p><a href="https://www.instagram.com/eslabonarmadooficial/" rel="noopener" target="_blank">Eslabon</a> Armado and <a href="https://www.instagram.com/pesopluma/" rel="noopener" target="_blank">Peso Pluma</a> proudly represented música Mexicana at this year&#8217;s Latin Grammy Awards. For the first time in a televised performance, the Mexican-American group joined forces with Peso Pluma to sing &#8220;Ella Baila Sola.&#8221; It was worth the wait with Eslabon Armado&#8217;s lead singer Pedro Tovar and Peso Pluma both giving a fiery rendition of the global hit. For being the sole writer of the sierreño track, Tovar was nominated for Song of the Year and Best Regional Mexican Song. </p>
<h4>Rauw Alejandro Wears His Heart on His Sleeve</h4>
<p><iframe width="560" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/JTg9b2RV5QM?si=tTWnbwMODKAIRww-" title="YouTube video player" frameborder="0" allow="accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share" allowfullscreen></iframe></p>
<p>While paying tribute to the Latin Recording Academy&#8217;s Person of the Year, <a href="https://www.instagram.com/rauwalejandro/?hl=en" rel="noopener" target="_blank">Rauw Alejandro</a> appeared to hint at his own personal heartbreak. The Puerto Rican superstar opened his performance with a poignant cover of &#8220;Se Fue&#8221; by Italian singer <a href="https://www.instagram.com/laurapausini/?hl=en" rel="noopener" target="_blank">Laura Pausini</a>. In the middle of a ring of fire, Alejandro&#8217;s voice soared as he sang about a romance that had run its course. Back in July, Alejandro and Spanish pop star Rosalía ended their engagement. He then followed that up with his dance tracks &#8220;No Me Sueltes&#8221; and &#8220;Baby Hello.&#8221;</p>
<h4>Feid and DJ Premier Bring Hip-Hop to the Awards</h4>
<p><iframe width="560" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/kAmMcib6h2E?si=RchbRrrwyIWvu46p" title="YouTube video player" frameborder="0" allow="accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share" allowfullscreen></iframe></p>
<p><a href="https://www.instagram.com/feid/?hl=en" rel="noopener" target="_blank">Feid</a> closed out the show with a vibrant performance. The Colombian superstar opened his green-tinted set with an acoustic version of his love song &#8220;Prohibidox.&#8221; After singing a few lyrics from the track, he was joined by hip-hop producer <a href="https://www.instagram.com/djpremier/?hl=en" rel="noopener" target="_blank">DJ Premier</a> to perform their collaboration &#8220;Le Pido a Dios.&#8221; Feid showed off his slick rap flow as DJ Premier played the swaggering track. Feid&#8217;s rumored girlfriend Karol G was spotted singing along in the front row. Feid and DJ Premier added the legacy of hip-hop’s 50th anniversary with the Spanish-language banger. </p>
